to be honest, disappointing. heard great things about this restaurant so maybe they were just having an off day! very expensive with food that just isn't worth the price.

with plenty last minute availability on a friday evening one may have been justified if feeling slightly apprehensive. but on entering the resturaunt the fab new decor transforms the small slender eatery into a very comfortable nearly sumptuous dinning room. on opening the menu you can learn how ethical two fat ladies are regards sourcing sustainable fish - our waitress informed us that it is soon to be 100% of all fish served. the menu was varied and everything sounded well thought through - i would have be happy with anything from it but decided on the blue cheese parcel followed by seabass with arbroath smokie potato cake. the parcel was an interesting wee starter, although i was surprised the cheese wasn't even parcally melted, it still mingled exceptionally well with the figs and walnut. also it was a healthy sized portion. my main was expertly cooked an delicious, although personally i felt that it was missing the xfactor that would've taken it to the next level. had this been served with a slice of parma ham or something to contrast flavour or texture. i never had a dessert myself but my partner devoured a baileys choc pot saying it was absolutely delicious. with a bottle of wine we paid only £60 which is fairly reasonable value for money. my only criticism would be that for some reason every dish was served with a green parmesan oil drizzle that to my plate took away from the flavoura on offer and emitted a potent unpleasant odour right into your nostrils after finishing what was a lovely meal. i would say if you like fish go, if your goin on a date, go, it's inf

first time at this tfl. the buttery has a big reputation and when you walk into this cosy (tiny) venue you might be forgiven for lowering your expections. fear not if you love sea food and are not looking for pretentious twists then you'll love it. the sole chef is in full view and creates these dishes for a full restaurant on what looks like a domestic range cooker in a tiny space- she mist have an army of elf helpers hiding in the cupboards! if you are anywhere near the dumbarton road go here.

truly outstanding.. my first time back since it has been refurbished, and wow has it been refurbished, the decor is lush, with a sexy new feel to the place. the food was, as always truly outstanding. the scallops were sweet,, juicy and super fresh, the crispy bacon and smoked brie sauce complimented them immensley. the staff were wonderfully attentive, without being in your face. the all round experience is most definatley worth a visit. i for one can't wait for my return.

during my kelvingrove museum trawl, i spied the menu at two fat ladies and was already sold on returning there, happy they could seat me upon opening at 5:30. the restaurant was warm and inviting, painted in lush golden yellow tones with a frieze surround

10/10: accomplished seafood cuisine and attentive service. back in business after a burst pipe in the tenement above wrecked the interior of this tiny restaurant in the winter 2009/2010, two fat ladies is an absolute must-do on glasgow's restaurant circuit.

the cosy space has be re-fitted with some horrific chiffon furnishings, but once you're seated you'll thankfully not notice them. the menu is almost 100% sea food (but veggies are invited to notify the solo chef who will produce something for you) and the quality of the fresh fish is incredible. langoustines were a rewarding selection as a starter and my sole with walnut and garlic butter was heavenly.

the wine list has been carefully chosen to support the seafood theme of the restaurant, and we enjoyed being able to mix a couple of half bottles for our three course meal. there is also a cracking dessert wine that goes with almost every sweet plate - if you can't decide go for the dessert platter for sharing, which brings you a taste of four of the ice cream, crême brulée, chocolate brownie and apple tart.

like it's larger sister at the buttery, two fat ladies on dunbarton road is a discrete and cosy hideaway from grim glaswegian winter nights. the attentive service completes the picture.

perfect. perfect. yes, absolutely perfect. fish cooked to perfection and proof that alcohol is not just an independant indulgence but that it complements food. even the desert ending was perfection. i feel sorry for others who rated this as not liking it, what misfortune. very highly recommend.
