absolute best in town. great food, good quality, cooked with flair. beautiful setting and comfy chairs. the whole place invites you to sit relax and be spoilt. love it. the service is tops. this husband and wife team care about their business.

beautiful food in comfortable, welcoming surroundings. perfectly situated overlooking the whangarei harbour and on a lovely summers night with a cool breeze, it was fabulous.
great selection on the menu, something for everyone. you have got to go!

fantastic experience as always and the dinner for my son's 21st was no different. great everything, meal, service, atmosphere etc! my only regret is that i forgot to leave a tip.

an absolutely delicious meal. i did not realise there was a restaurant like that in town. what a fantastic surprise. i agree with everyone else the excellent service, delicious food, and wine was out of this world. a friend of ours took us there and i am so glad she did. we will recommend this restaurant to all our family and friends. i must remember to tell them to book first. my husband and i will be returning to topsail on our wedding anniversary. well done, owners. congrats to you both and to your staff. awesome!!!

pj and i had the best meal ever tonite. on every occassion we have dined here we loved everything about top sail from the intimate dining experience, the music, fabulous service and unbelievable food. we are locals and as ex jafas have dined at the best reataurants in aucklnd, however none compare for an overall dining experience.
thanks debbie and ian. we will be back.

topsail is a hidden gem, be prepared to be pleasantly surprised! never judge a book by its cover...... the place looks like nothing from the outside, but the magic starts when you turn the door knob......

the view, the food, the wine list! absolutely fantastic!

debbie and ian, what can we say. well we've been there a few times both in a company capacity and personal and may we say we have never been disappointed at all. the service the food the ambience all top notch. i remember you had a main that had ratatouille with it. the next time we came it was not on the menu. i asked if you could serve it up again and presto there it was. even a second time i came back,again you served it up. it's a rare thing to see such a busy place to pull service like that out of the bag not once but twice. we always enjoy it when we dine there. we never tire of the place. hope to see you soon and take care.

as regular visitors to top sail what can we say about this restaurant that has not been said before , only that the ambience , service , views , staff , debbie & ian , and of course the food & wine are the very best in northland. always a great dinning experience

having made a reservation through your website for a birthday celebration dinner for my husband, i was very disappointed upon arrival at the restaurant to find that they had no record of our booking, and the restaurant was fully booked for that evening.
however, they did their best to accommodate us and we were able to have an entree sitting at a table reserved for someone else due in 30 minutes time then we sat on a settee with a coffee table pulled up in front of us, and ate our dessert.
not quite the occasion i had been expecting at all!

the food was delicious!!

the best restaurant in the whangarei area. food is always excellent, and the chocolate mousse is to die for. menu changes often enough to remain interesting, and if you are feeling really hungry try the seafod tasting plate as a starter.
as well as the great food there are nice views out over the harbour from this small, cosy and friendly restaurant.

up with the best in food, presentation, wine suggestions, liquor menu, but it is the personal touch that makes it great.
lovely to find some changes in the menu with the extras added to the dish.
those prawns on skewer with age beef fillet were superb.
and the wine to go with the dish, spot on!

ian and deb are superstars.

(don't lose your chef, we advised deb after the first of regular visits. i won't...i married him, said deb!)

there recently when ian emerged from his tiny kitchen towards the end of the evening...and all the diners spontaneously applauded him. ses it all!!!

we always enjoy dining at topsail and have never been disappointed with a meal.
excellent food, which is consistently good, deliciously tasty and beautifully presented. very pleasant, friendly service. stunning location with lovely views over the harbour. great wine list.
the best dining experience in whangarei. we highly recommend.

superb location, food and service. i have been to this restaurant several times now and the welcome, the service and the food never fail to live up to expectations. my only request is that perhaps the menu could be varied a little for regulars like myself.
