read all the reviews and was so excited to eat there. ordered our food to go. they had horrible customer service. rib ends were terrible and not a bit of meat on them. the corn was even worse! every kernel on the cob was crushed and looked like it had been soaking for days. tasted just like stale salt water. what a complete disappoint!
spent $20 and are leaving memphis hungry!

ribs aren't good. ordered baby back ribs with sauce, and got regular ribs with no sauce, took them back and register people kept saying they were babyback i said well no sauce, they just slapped sauce on there, i was so dissappointed, if i go back i'll get something else, the ribs are just not good and if that's what they call baby back i'd hate to see the regular ones

several times visitor. i had heard about toms for some time but had never been in that part of town. recently i have been there more than twice. in some ways it reminds me of being in nyny with the order calling and the banter from the employees. the food is good, plain and simple. nobody has mentioned how wonderful the deserts are so i will say you can find some of the best here for topping off your fantastic bbq. i now purchase pulled pork to take home. it freezes well if you haven't eaten it all in a few days. be hungry when you go as serving size is quite large. one thing to notice is that the large sandwiches are only 49 cents more than the regular size. pay up and pig out!

wonderful pulled pork!. i made a quick stop into this place being that it had received such good reviews and i was a northerner eager to try as many southern bbq joints as i could. this was the first place i hit after landing in memphis.

i ordered a combo with pulled pork. the meat was tender and tasty. their sweet bbq sauce was a perfect mix of sweet and tangy. when ordering bbq, don't forget to grab yourself a cup of sweetened iced tea (rather than a soda)...writing this review as i look at the picture of the meal i had there is making my mouth water. too bad i am hundreds of miles away...if i wasn't, i'd be getting into my car now, and heading over there for more!

would i recommend it? yes!

beef brisket and pulled pork was delicious. sides of deviled eggs, fries, and baked beans were very tasty. tea was very southern and sweet...just the way i like it!

for well over a decade now, i’ve made a practice of asking around to discover every nook and cranny in the memphis bbq universe. over time, people learned that i was always looking for the next bbq adventure. several years ago, a colleague asked if i’d been to tom’s bbq. it was new to me at the time, so i decided to take the boys, who were wee little sprites then (they’re teens now). walking up, we saw an outdoor patio and smokestacks, which are

i don't know what's happened to tom's. let me preface this by saying, i have always the considered them the best bbq in memphis, but adam must not own it anymore. the past two times i've gone, the food and service have been terrible. the time before this, the cole slaw was literally pink - not just a strip of pink here and there, but the whole slaw was pink and slimy. the pork hadn't gone bad, but it just didn't taste like tom's. today, i just had a deviled egg that actually made me puke. apparently, what tom's used to be is dead. it's sad that this has happened because they have been my favorite bbq since i first tried them 15 years ago. sadly, i won't be going back, and i would suggest to anyone else, to go at their own risk.

memphis' best kept secret. this little gem on the corner of raines and getwell was discovered one early morning by a fellow co-worker. having lived in memphis and having sampled bbq by some of the famous local bbq restaurants, i can say with certainty that they have gone to sleep on their laurels; tom's on the other hand is the real deal. my personal favorite from the menu are the rib tips which are truly spectacular. if good bbq is what you want, then do yourself a favor and check this place out.

the barbecued bologna sandwich surprises many people, men and women. it is nothing like the fried bologna i grew up with. the bologna is beef and thick. they prepare the bologna in a three step process which makes it very tasty.

baby back ribs. they don't need sauce is my highest compliment. they are covered with meat and extremely tender.

the food is pretty good. i've had the spare ribs & rib tips. make sure that if you ask for the sauce on the side, that they actually do it.

disappointed. wow, this place is all dd&d hype. my first time. ordered the fieri recommended rib tip plate; non-busy lunchtime. many bones; little meat, tough and very dry. sides very ordinary. price good for large portions, but i would not drive a distance to get it. as a memphian, i might have to try it again...just to see if bbq this bad was a fluke. i hope so. i don’t make a practice of turning food back or critiquing restaurants, but first-timers need to be warned. if you don’t walk in as guy fieri, you may not get their best effort. plenty of great bbq in memphis; hope visitors don’t judge the city’s favorite cuisine by this place.

disappointed. we were visiting memphis and were on the search for the best bbq in town. we googled a view different places, and finally decided to give tom's a try based on all the great reviews. i'll give them the benefit of the doubt by saying that we came in at 7pm on a saturday night, and they were closing at 8pm; but our experience was very disappointing from the moment we walked up to order. customer service was nonexistent and we were told that the indoor dining room was already closed, so we would have to sit on the porch. it's february and currently 37 degrees! at least the food was good, except the dessert of the day (peach cobbler), which was nothing but bread pudding. needless to say, we wish we'd tried interstate bbq instead.
