tir na nog -. i go to tir-na-nog quite often, since it is quite convenient and that is so far one of few places where a grilled salmon is prepared just the way i love it! since i don't eat any meat i can't tell about truly irish fare, yet i don't know any of my friends who wouldn't enjoy eating at tir-na-nog. if i go for a lunch, i usually order a veggie sandwich - a juicy grilled portabella mushroom tastes so good with a fontina cheese and balsamic sauce. or i would go with one of the salads -they all good sized, and each has a unique delicious dressing - and add a salmon.
oh, and don't forget about a dessert! chocolate souffle would be a right choice!
also i discovered for myself a new item on a brunch menu and got addicted : irish oatmeal brulee, it is like eating desert for a breakfast!
well, obviously, highly recommended...

nice place for a drink

we were waking around in philadelphia and stumbled on this place. our friends are irish so we stopped in. very nice and cozy inside. we didn't eat but had a couple of drinks. nice drink menu and very reasonable for being in the city. place was packed by the time we left and many were eating food. families were there as well. would go back and try their food.

don't expect authentic irish pub food here because you'll be disappointed. tnn is actually just a sports bar. there are multiple tvs and multiple dark nooks and crannies. the burger was somewhat dry and the irish toasty sandwich (a version of grilled cheese) was also somewhat dry.
service was attentive and well-paced. i suppose if you're interested in a special sporting event, this would be a good place to drink a beer and celebrate victory or drown your sorrows in defeat.

to sum it up briefly: sports bar with an irish theme located in a hotel. keep your expectations low and you'll be satisfied. the food is ok, and the beer selection is on par with other various hotel establishments. i like to stop by here to watch chelsea games and enjoy a proper pint of guinness. just don't expect it to ever be on special!

recommended. great food. a chill and reasonably gastro pub in an otherwise expensive neighborhood.

we had an issue with one of our drinks and complained to the waitress. in return, the manager removed one of our meals from the bill and let the our party of four order desserts on the house. the staff was very attentive and apologetic.

forget the philedelphia inquirer review- this is a great place to eat. meal started with a basket of homemade mixed bread. sweet butter was perfectly soft too. i had the pork chop which was bone in and very moist -not dry. tummy!! bread pudding for dessert was out of sight but different from typical southern style. rwccomended!!
