disgusting. i walk into the store, past the open sign, to find tables on chairs, mopping, and cleaning. as i am turning to leave, the owner tells me to stay and that they will make me a sandwich. i order my sandwich from a jerk that says, "what do you want?" with a scowl on his face. i made my order and he sat the order on the lunch-prep. the owner (still mopping the floor) tells the employee drying the mopped floor with towels to make my sandwich. he picks up the dirty rags and takes them behind the bar, and then grabs deli gloves and manhandles them onto his hands. he grabs the ingredients for my sandwich and haphazardly smashes them into a sandwich. the final product was a sad looking "sandwich" less than an inch tall (this is an $8 sandwich). it was at this moment that i regretted not asking for refund of my $8.36. i was my sandwich in a bag with a "here." i walked out starving and contemplating if i wanted to eat it or not. when i finally mustered the courage to stupidly bite into it out of starvation, it was terrible tasting. i took two bites and then i realized that i needed to do something. i called the store and asked for the manager, to which an employee said he was the manager. i then asked for the owner, and he said that he wasn't there. he then started asking me what what my problem is. i told him that i had a problem with how the employees were behaving. instead of trying to quell my concerns and be empathetic towards my situation he told responded again with, "and, what's your problem?" i told him that a manager shouldn't be acting this way, and that i was amazed that he thought his approach to my situation was an appropriate response. when he replied with, "so what?" i explained that i would be handling this in another manner. i drove up there with my defiled sandwich and asked for a refund. the owner magically appeared and asked what was wrong. as i started to explain the situation, i only was able to get to the point of how the employee did not wash his hands. the owner leaned towards me and raised his voice to tell me that i was wrong and that he saw the employee wash his hands. he then started telling me how he and his wife are clean christians concerned about the community, and that their last scheduled health inspection was scored at 93. he said that he trusted (employee that i spoke to earlier) and gestured over to a guy that smirked at me. he continued to tell me that i was wrong and he did not apologize even once.
