ah-maze-zing!. so, we're from out of town and decided to try this place because of the reviews and variety on the menu.
husband had the monte carlo new york strip with mashed potatoes and green beans. the steak, which was cooked perfectly and looked great, has a "bold, sweet and zesty" rub. it was too sweet for our taste, but it was a nice cut of steak. didn't taste the potatoes, but the green beans were perfectly cooked with bacon. delicious.
i had the jalapeño grilled catfish with a baked potato and green beans. oh. my. goodness. that catfish consisted of two huge filets. the jalapeño crust was perfectly spicy. there was so much, we could've split it and still have leftovers. the potato was perfect, and again, the green beans were awesome.
my son had grilled cheese and mashed potatoes. he nearly cleaned his plate, but it seemed like a standard grilled cheese.
my daughter had the mac and cheese. again, i thought i might have died and gone to heaven. when we were packaging up the leftovers, we took her bowl and she yelled at us to give it back. she almost finished a huge bowl and that never happens. (we did get a spoonful to take home).
as for service, i wish i knew our waitress's name. she was really good. very accommodating and attentive. the catfish was her recommendation and she was spot on. another guy walked by soon after we sat down. he saw i was on my cell phone and asked if we wanted the wi-fi password. i never would've thought to ask.
it's probably a good thing for my waistline that we don't live here. but, we're only 3 hours away, so we'll be back. and, we're putting those leftovers on ice so we can take them home with us. :)
