over heard manager making very crude and obnoxious comments with male servers about gay female couple's choice in late night dinner options on 5/28/2016.

first rate! the food was phenomenal our server matt n. gave us great advise on appetizers and took very good care of us. definitely will be return customers.

thirsty lion is popular as a hang-out for students or the general public before, during and after sporing events, both local and on television.  there are large lcd tv's on all the walls, so patrons can watch various events.  the bar menu is robust: lots of choices for beer and wines, and the bartenders make some excellent and creative mixed drinks.  

appetizers tend to the large side, and are served promptly.  entrees also tend to the large side, and again, are served in a very timely manner.  wait staff is attentive and friendly.

as to choices: check out the menu.  there is something for most tastes. 

the thirsty lion's become one of our "go-to" restaurants, and we visit on a regular basis (monthly or more).

thirsty lion started in oregon and we now have three locations here in the valley. they lean towards a european - american pub type atmosphere. with more than a dozen appetizers, small plates are the largest part of thirsty lion's menu which contains various types of food (spicy tuna rolls, nachos, pizza, etc). the drink menu features over 50 draft beers and wines by the glass. the restaurant itself is very large with a large bar and an outdoor patio. they are pretty similar to the yard house. i got the nw pub burger (a gorgonzola infused burger with maple pepper bacon, arugula and horseradish cream) and really enjoyed the toasted bun it came on. thirsty lion isn't a place for you to come to have conversation. the music is pretty loud and the bar area is usually hopping (especially if there is a good game going on). they obviously hire their wait staff based on looks. because of this, i found the customer service to be pretty mediocre which is a bummer because food here is pretty good.

horrible staff. all drunk and high. all staff was under the influence.
careless, overcharged for food and drinks, would not correct bill, told manager, he would not correct either. will not go back

this is our usual date night spot. the staff is always friendly, the atmosphere is fun but still romantic, and the good is some of the best i've ever had. my boyfriend and i have tried almost everything on the menu, and everything's been delicious and well prepared. the thirsty lion is by far one of the best restaurants in tempe.

first went to the bar as we waited for our table and the bartender gave us a look like hurry up and order and she never came back (bar was not busy) after several minutes someone finally came up too us and we ordered our drinks and our table was ready. sat our party down and from there it was excellent our food was great and waitress was on point and nice and fun too kid around with. would go back again really good food and beer selection.

we were sad after darcy mcgee's closed down in the same marketplace.. but happy to have found this place who also serves a delicious lamb shank. i also really enjoyed the pub burger and the waitress' recommendation

never going back. the hostess that greeted us looked like she had been out partying all night and rolled out of someones bed in the same clothes and decided to show up for work. huge bags under her eyes, dirty knee-high boots, and a slinky black dress that was covered in animal hair. needless to say, my business partner and i laughed at her "less than professional" greeting and walked out. i hear you can get a better burger at ruby tuesdays.

great lunch and service. stopped by with a group from for lunch today, lets start when you first walk in, greeted by a smiling hostess asking how your day is. from there, the service is great. the atmosphere is nice, and if i did have to go back to work, i would have taken advantage of one of the 52 beers on tap. lunch was grilled mahi mahi, with rice and veggies, too much rice for my liking, but the fish was wonderful. will plan on returning, and look forward to hhs.

very good food and nice decor. also has good service and atmosphere. i recommend getting a reservation or you will wait for a while.

fantastic! we had a party of 10. everyone ordered something different. the unanimous opinion was that the food was great and the flavors were uncommonly delicious. service was good even for a busy weekend.
