the stockpot broiler

mothra says...... good atmosphere and conversationso i had set up a work meeting with wendy at "the company" to meet for a drink after work last week.  but, wendy, who is truly a really busy person and had to cancel.  although sad, i was glad to meet her recently for lunch at the stockpot.  i had been her 2 or 3 years back for hors d oeuvres and drinks and was excited to try the lunch menu with wendy. we were seated promptly with a window view of the golf course.  jabar our server arrived and passed out a series of menus, advised us of the specials, and asked for our drink order.  soon after jabar arrived with wendys iced coffee with cream, my glass of oregons finest along with some sliced homemade bread with soft butter for the table.  nice.   being a hot day climbing into the 90's, i was parched and the young lady (name unknown) professionally was there to fill up my glass during the hour.  wendy and i got caught up on business and got to know each other a bit more.soon after, wendy's sautéed white fish entrée with vegetables and my two korean steak tacos, with corn tortillas marinated steak & sesame ginger slaw and an edamame noodle stir-fry arrived.    although the tacos were flavorful, they were a bit dry.  however, the big surprise was the bowl of edemame noodle stir fry with a great flavor.                                                                                                                         after an hour of conversation including a discussion of our favorite dozen or so restaurants in the greater portland area, we departed with a plan for the 2nd half of the year.      pluses:  good unobtrusive service with jabar, good menu, great atmosphere:  quiet with a great view of the golf course.   minuses:  a bit overpriced menu for lunch, and mostly average entrees chosen today.will i be back?  probably yes but for the happy hour instead.  mothra says......3.25 of 5.0

great pepper steak - depressing decor. i had the pepper steak with garlic mashed potatoes. apparently the vegetable was unremarkable as i don't even recall what it was. perhaps because the steak and potato were so delicious!

the food felt pretentiously overpriced at $35.00 for the entree - largely because the decor of the restaurant was cheap, worn and dark.

there was such a beautiful view of the golf course it was difficult to bring my gaze back inside the depressingly appointed dining room. who are they mourning?

the service was excellent.

i don't think i would go back. perhaps ordering a takeout of the steak next time and eating it elsewhere...

love the happy hour!. we stopped in for happy hour and were blown away! the happy hour burger was a full 1/2 pound patty on a classic pub-style bun, for only $4.50. and they cook it just the way you want it (although who needs more than medium rare?). my friend got the nachos and couldn't finish them, the plate was huge! you will definitely see me there again!

best restaurant ever!. i travel a lot for work and eat out ever night i am traveling. recently i was on a business trip to the portland/ beaverton area and i brought a few important clients to the stockpot broiler to entertain my guests and discuss future business engagements. never in all my years taking business prospects to dinner, have i ever experienced a better restaurant experience than i received at the stockpot. the service was impeccable and the food i still crave to this day. i wish i lived in the area so, i could frequent this restaurant ever chance i can get. we do not have anything like the stockpot anywhere near me in colorado. if you want an amazing meal and be treated like a celebrity, all at an amazing value... you cannot get better than the stockpot. the restaurant a jewel and other restaurants need to cut a page out of the stockpots play book. you got to try this place!

this place is delish!!. i live in washington but i visit the tigard area often because i have family there. whenever i'm in town we eat dinner at the stockpot (and sometimes sunday brunch too)! we joke about wanting to take one of everything home with us for leftovers because the food is so delicious! the service is excellent too, whether you're in the bar or the dining room! my favorite is the french onion soup and my steak is always cooked perfectly! the last time i was there i ordered the pork chop...seriously delicious! a must try! an after dinner spanish coffee is always a perfect treat too. i highly recommend this restaurant!

read wonderful reviews but it was truly terrible. it smelled like a conference room and had gambling opportunities which didnt bode well for the meal. we should have seen the signs. room temp deciles eggs with room temp, very fragrant crab (or krab?). weak cocktails and all around disappointing food.

great bar! food is amazing!
