the stinking rose has been in la longer than i can remember. i went when i was much younger and then again not too long ago while on vacation in la. it was as good as i remember and would love to go again.

firstly, you can't help but be impressed with the decor. it's like eating in your own private cabana somewhere in an exotic location. it's unlike any other interior i've seen. then, while you wait for your food, they bring out the most incredible warm garlic rolls which are just heavenly. so yum. there's plenty on the menu to choose from, and everything sounds delicious. i had a beautiful pasta dish, and wasn't disappointed. the food came out promptly and the staff were friendly and nice.

i do hate how some restaurants provide valet parking (because there's sometimes just not other choice) and then charge the earth. but luckily we got a park right outside.

if you're a garlic fan, and love comfort dishes set in a beautiful restaurant with a great ambiance and in a central location in la, then try the stinking rose. it's well priced and a great experience.

i arrived to pick up a gift for a friend but couldn't resist sampling the food in an unusual restaurant. the service was great and the food was super tasty.

it had been a couple of years since i've been to the stinking rose so this visit was past overdue. it was my mom's birthday and she's never been before, so it was not only the perfect opportunity to make my way back here but to also introduce her to all of its garlic goodness.

the food here is excellent. for those who aren't familiar with this place...all dishes are cooked with garlic. like most meals, i started this one with a nice cold beer while munching on their garlic bread. from here, a couple of appetizers arrived. i've said it in many reviews and i'll say it again, i'm a sucker for fried calamari no matter the restaurant so that was a must along with the sizzling iron skillet of mussels, crab and shrimp. delicious!!!

main courses followed and there was literally a feast! i dug into every plate. i have a rule, i will not post a food image unless i've tried the dish so all my fam allows me try their plates. i also consider my closest friends family as well so they were apart of this feast minus two who unfortunately work night crew. next time oscar and mark!

i don't even no where to begin because every dish was awesome. my prime rib was as tender and flavorful as ever. the steaks were perfectly cooked and was the best i've had in a while. the ribs were tender with a crispy outing, the short rib could literally be cut through with the fork alone and the lamb shank, man oh man was that good. i also have to say the name of the lamb shank dish is pretty hilarious as well as its description...silence of the lamb shank with a chianti glaze and fava beans. i meal i'm sure hannibal lecter would enjoy lol. the best part about all the food is the garlic. there is no such thing as a little garlic just as little bacon in my opinion. i love the stuff.

last up was the desserts as well as a happy birthday song for my mom with a garlic hat to wear as we sung. that was pretty funny. the gilroy's famous garlic ice cream was brought out. this had a present but very lite garlic taste to blend with the vanilla and caramel...very tasty! last was the italian wild strawberry cheesecake my friends ordered. cheesecake fans rejoice! we have a winner here.

this was a great dinner and i'm sure the first timers who were there are now fans. most importantly, my mom loved her birthday dinner. our server melissa took good care of us making the experience for everyone excellent. if you like garlic, this is the place to grub. sucks if you don't because you're missing out on a awesome restaurant.

visit date 2/2/2016

it is beautiful inside. perfect for date night or a family celebration such as a birthday. even their ice cream has garlic in it! they also have a selection of hot sauce and other items you can purchase up in the front. parking is a little crazy since its in la.

true friendship doesn't need to be tested, but a friend who will share a meal with you at the stinking rose is a friend indeed. each and every dish is contains an ample amount of garlic, adequate for warding off vampires while simultaneously waking the dead. . the decor is a pretty good wake-up call as well. make sure to walk around in the crypt-like lighting to check out all the famous paintings made into variations on the theme. get your art history education with painting like the iconic "starry, garlic night".

this is a good unpretentious place in wilshire, la. tasty food and straight to the point. however, if you're not a garlic fan, then you're in the wrong place!

amazingly good food in a circus-like environment. this place's decor seems a bit like a circus and is a little confusing however my baby brought me here for one of our first dates and the food blew me away! i love garlic and mass amounts of it (to his dismay!) so we ordered the chicken and the steak and everything was delish! i was pleasantly surprised and this spot is one of the reasons he is the love of my life... lol!

give me a garlic filled kiss.. one must obviously love garlic when you come here. the menu selection isn't huge, but nonetheless there hasn't been an entree that i have had and haven't liked. although, i was slightly disappointed with the tub of garlic cloves. it arrived in a sizzling skillet yet the garlic wasn't caliente and it lacked in flavor. the bread was fresh and delish, the cocktails were super yum and the service was fast and efficient

will i be coming back? absolutely!

i tried the garlic boneless braised short ribs, which were lovely. i love short ribs, so that was an easy call. if i were in a more…expensive mood, i would have tried the filet mignon, but i also have a major temptation toward the garlic prime rib.

neat atmosphere with an equally neat menu. they successfully take the theme of garlic throughout the menu without patronizing it. delicious meal all the way.

bring the following items for after dining: change of clothes (especially if you are going some place after), mouthwash, toothpaste, toothbrush, stainless steel spoon (rub around inside of mouth. it sounds silly, although it will help.), stainless steel pie plate (rub on hands and skin).  #jessebluma #pointeviven #zomato #restaurants #beverlyhills

i had the angelhair pasta with tomatoes, olives and basil. it was tasty! a great place to out for a cute date ( just don't forget that your breath will smell like garlic, so maybe not the first date!)
