the sitting elephant by hotel ellbee ganga view

this is a hotel's restaurant with great view, nice ambience with great staff. i ordered paneer tikka sandwich with chocolate milkshake with ice cream.

i recently visited elbee hotel. their rooftop restuarant is really amazing. they serve fresh and delicious food.
the presentation is also good. their staff is really good especially mr. vijay kandwal.
they have a lot of menu for starters, beverages, main course and dessert as well.

the experience was pathetic - we entered with seeing 20 dirty, empty tables with no one to clean or attend to the guests. there were only 2 servers who were extremely rude and did not address us well. the food portions were insufficient; and very limited options. highly overpriced for the portion sizes.
this restaurant is not at all worth visited. ❌ not recommended at all. the hotel services are equally bad for stay.

they have only three waiters serving at dinner time which is not sufficient people have to wait for long and waiters were rude and they insulted us just for ordering less food but we were just two people why would we order more than its required. i felt disgusted probably will never visit this place again. they ruined my birthday

in one word it's a much hyped restaurant whereas nothing great about it. will recommend not to visit if your are not staying with them. they will treat you in a vert rude way. so, don't go by the good reviews posted.

when in rishikesh, your trip gotta be an eclectic mix of gorgeous view of pristine rivers and local feel of culture and tradition. this rooftop restaurant offers just about all of that and more!

heavenly combination of blackcurrant and yogurt is not just tasty but also healthy.

✅paneer multani
succulent pieces of paneer coated in mint chutney, slow cooked in a clay oven, gave authentic earthy flavours.

✅ sham savera kofta
can't decide whether to order a sabzi in red gravy or green, this dish offers the best of both worlds.

❤️ mandua roti
the highlight of this traditional roti is that it's made of locally grown grain mandua and it's totally healthy and light on tummy. it's a must have on your visit to the sitting elephant.

✅ pineapple raita
i like the refreshing taste of sweet & tangy pineapple raita to go with roti-sabzi.

❤️ gahat dal
this is another garhwali dish that i was looking forward to. it's a mix of gahat dal with arhar and kaali daal. definitely worth a try.

❤️ kheer
mildly sweet kheer was a perfect ending to our meal. you simply cannot miss this.

service
the staff here is so warm and courteous they treat you like family and help you like a friend. most ordered dishes were suggestions given by our kind & helpful server mukesh rawat. he not just helped us order the best dishes but also with some really helpful suggestions for sightseeing.

i don't know what won me over the most... is it the finger-licking delicious food, heart-warming service or the view of divine ganga flowing by the side and triveni ghat just around the corner. whatever be your reason to visit, it's a must-go for everyone in rishikesh!

overall pretty bad experience. won't recommend this place. prices are exorbitant for the quality of food they offer. not worth at all.

overall the experience was pretty bad. for the menu you have to give them your phone number or email id. the quality of food is average, beverages were bad. the prices are exorbitant, they charged 70 for a bisleri 1 litre bottle. a lot of the stuff on the menu was not available. the payment process was tedious too. never going back again and would suggest everyone to keep distance.

mr mukesh served us and made good recommendations. simple and quaint ambience. however, the payment process is a bit tedious.

the service was pathetic. the staff was not attentive at all. we complained at the reception but they were rude as well.

why do you have a menu card if you have to serve dal and roti. sizzlers aren't available. noodles aren't available. nan isn't available. vegetables aren't available. why is this place still on?

great ambience and pretty views of ganga. we had a great time there and enjoyed the food. the menu offered wide variety of options and everything we ordered came out good.

was here on 25th december evening. i would say the food was average and could have been better. the prices are high as compared to what they are serving and how they are serving.
