great place for a boutique beer or scotch - a completely retro fit out with committed and friendly bar staff.

don't expect quick service: you'll wait for your drink while those before you get to sample or discuss their tipple - and so will you! patience will really pay off!

i loved being here and appreciated that we could order food to be delivered from outside.

try this place!

excellent spot for a few beers and a cheese platter. we go to scratch regularly and have never been disappointed. they always have interesting beers on tap. they'll give you a taste to help you decide. the bartenders are always friendly and laid back. all round - an excellent place.

love this place. do not get over as much as id like now i'm south side! knowledgable staff and friendly vibes. the original and arguably the best

lame... bitterly dissapointed=lame
had to beg for a taste and what an effort that was! and the staff seemed more interested in their pizza than talking or serving clientele.. if it wasn't raining we wudve left,,,no peanuts on offer and the toilets were out in a dodgy carpark,,, better off staying in the city milton is not known for beer and the scratch is just another bubble gum arcade
in a yuppie street trying to pretend it's a brewery,,, it's really more of a poncy cafe.. as a real brewer i warn other real brewers not to waste your time... any questions contact me...

unique place that everyone knows about.. wonderful little bar with a great range of beers and a friendly atmosphere. best place to go for mid-week after work drinks. friday-saturday-sunday afternoons and evenings can get a bit hectic and waiting in line runs counter to the place's laid-back atmosphere.

absolutely unique experience. what a ball this place is, bar staff are great, beers are completely unique and the atmosphere is fun, friendly and warm.

first impressions count. great beer range? wouldn't know. friendly bar staff? maybe, maybe not. doorman/owner in need of charm school? definitely. an attitude truly breathtaking in its arrogance.

one of my favorite bars in brisbane. the choice of beers, fantastic vibe and outstanding service brings me back everytime. definitely a must visit.

rad. such a rad place. went here with a friend a few months back. i don't even drink beer or cider, but i ordered a cider (or which i drank half), but i absolutely loved the atmosphere. my friend and i sat around at a bench table, drinking, eating peanuts (they're free!) and playing scrabble (all free, just grab em' and play em')! seems to attract a likable crowd too. was absolutely great! wish i didn't live so far away, or that they'd make entertaining places in northside too!

the scratch’s comfy, big couches would have soothed my tired bones. their friendly bartenders would have perked up my grumpy, sleep-deprived self. and their wonderful beer list would have made my parched, dehydrated throat very, very happy.

beer tasting rocks!. they let you try a few before you decide which is really handy as i do like my variety. passionate staffs and relaxed atmosphere. really cool place. keep it up!

please dont change !. i love the beer, i love the vibe and i love that you can come and watch guys with impressive beards and moustaches hanging out, its like your in a time warp back to the 70s. dont change a thing please its perfect!

beer range is phenomenal!. best beer range in brisbane. to top it off, the staff are the friendliest blokes around. not like the pretentious mob over the bridge at archive.

you can see the xxxx brewery neon signs from this place. i just love the irony of the fact that a place like this that serves such wonderful beer is so close to the source of queensland's worst beer! keep on serving great beer guys!
