so the first time i went to the i thought it was terrible. not impressed at all with the food. but i heard they had a new chef and so we gave it another shot because i really want to have good places in hermosa. i was so much happier with my meal this time. there is a kalbi cheesesteak sandwich that is really great. if you wrote this place off before based on a prior experience, i'd say it's worth giving it another shot.

jury is out to lunch. great job on the outdoor seating and decor. menu is small, a bit overpriced. had a burger and for $12, i expected more, it was very average. don't order it! the ahi tacos were good. once "the counter" opens on pier i think something better than marginal burgers will need to happen for this place to make it, the menue needs work. as a drinking venue, it is awesome, i like it a lot. i hope it succeeds for that reason alone.

another appetizer we enjoyed was the truffle mac and chesse, and if you can believe it, it’s on happy hour menu and topped with large shavings of black truffle. truffles at happy hour?? swoon! the combo of queso and truffle mac and cheese may be too much for some, but we didn’t care. go big or go home.

the rockefeller is unabashedly nyc inspired, with its dangle of exposed bulbs and leather barstools; it exudes a gentle edge, more than we’re used to in seaside décor.  so when the lobster pot pie has you giddy, or those seared ahi tacos get your blood pumping as only something that tastes like that does, you’ll know.

really did not want to like this place because of how everything went down with ragin cajun, but they have done a great job. good beer and wine selection and for happy hour have a few at half price. food is very good, but is a little over priced for what really is barfare. we had the american burger and ahi tacos and were very pleased.

the rockefeller. a new resto, with a few hiccups in the kitchen, but the wine selection is great, and they offer a good variety of "american tapas". particularly liked the prosciutto wrapped shrimp, and the toffee cake dessert. the sweet potato fries and zuchini were also delicious, with a nice variety of dipping sauces. the setting is also great- an open air patio, where you can watch people go by looking in to see what a great job they've done remodeling the place! awesome curb appeal!
