at this point i have been here about 3-4 times, mostly for drinks. this last visit was on a weekday for happy hour with a girlfriend. no drinks this time. we really wanted to try the happy hour food menu. the restaurant had maybe 2-3 tables at the time and a couple of people at the bar. i should mention that i love the remodel from the old bungalow look that was dark and uninviting. our server was very attentive and friendly. we ordered green chile mac and cheese, tuna tartare guacamole, and deviled eggs. these were good for sharing and i would recommend you do because they aren't light. the mac and cheese was evenly covered in cheese sauce and the green chile added flavor but not much heat. it wasn't mind blowing mac however. the tuna tartare guacamole had good flavor and came with a side of wonton chips--but i remember having a sample of this appetizer during a veuve clicquot event months back and felt that the tuna marinade was more vibrant then so i was somewhat disappointed at this visit. perhaps it was because during the event the samples were created into bite size chips whereas this was prepared as a big bowl of guacamole with a mound of the tartare on top. the deviled eggs were topped with bacon, truffle oil, and potato skins and probably my favorite part of this visit. next time i want to try their smoked salmon version of the deviled eggs. would i come back? sure, it's great for groups, drinks, and the food is reasonable in value for happy hour. would i recommend this place to friends? if you're in old town for happy hour or want a place for a group outing and fun, breezy atmosphere, i would say go here.
