one of my favourite spots in edinburgh. this bakery rocks! far and away the best in edinburgh. great coffee and cakes, good soups and sandwiches, but the reason to come here is the bread. pumpkin bread, auvergne, seeded loaves, baps, rustic loaves, rye breads, and their shockingly evil chocolate bread (only available on saturdays, i believe). i would go so far as to put this little bakery in the unassuming easter road neighbourhood on the tourist route. not to be missed.

pretty decent pastries and cakes. tried the broad beans salad. not a fan as it was not as tasteful as i was hoping for. the pastries were otherwise quite okay for a quick snacks.

fantastic!! where do i start! you just can't go wrong! brill atmosphere, fantastic service. but most of all great coffee. we also ordered a cheese and bacon croissant which was the first time i have ever had one and it was delish!!!!! then my partner who was very nice to share it (surprisingly) had a, ...well we aren't sure but it was round, had raisins in it (i did a russian roulette type of thing! glad i did) this made my wife so animated about eating! every bite had a verbal
confirmation she was enjoying it! pleasure hit our lips this morning just what we needed!!

very friendly staff, interesting range of cakes, lots of fruity options and also gluten free cakes available. the coffee was ok, but quite standard. they have a coffee and cake deal for 4.50. they also offer a range of home-made bread and savoury quiches and strudels. there is a nice and friendly atmosphere, if you are a vegetarian you can choose from quite a large range of savoury snacks or breads. if it´s a good weather you can sit outside at 2 small tables, which is quite pleasant, but can get a bit noisy, being right on the easter road. altogether, its a nice place to stop off at, if you want to grab a coffee and some interesting pastry. we would definitely go back to try more of their bakery goods.

the manna house easily is the best bakery for fresh bread in all of edinburgh. they have a great selection of regular crusty bread, onion bread, wheaty bread, and even dark chocolate bread! i love stopping here to buy good bread to go with my home-cooked dinners. they also have nice-looking cakes, salads and sandwiches, but their seating is extremely limited.

although their easter road location isn't terribly convenient for me, many restaurants in edinburgh like hemma buy bread from them, and other places like cranacan and crowdie on cannongate buy in their loaves and sell them so locals can source their manna house bread there.

it was exactly what i was hoping for, beautiful food, great casual but welcoming vibe. i ordered the flatbread with toppings, beet salad and coffee, forgetting to even check the menu it just looked so good! i would have loved some sweets but i over indulged all weekend at a wedding. i'd recommend it in a heartbeat.

manna (house) from heaven. at the top of easter road is this tiny little bakery and cafe. there are 2 counters: to the right is the bakery items and to the front is the most exquisite selection of cakes, pastries, merangues and brownies. they were like little works of art and it was (almost) a crime to eat them !! i had a large latte and a ham and smoked cheese salad rye roll. i had my eye on a mini cheesecake but by this time there was a large queue so maybe next time. well worth a visit.

a wee gem!. small maybe - but perfectly formed. my local bakery and i couldn't be luckier - wonderful breads, great croissants and savoury food that just gets better and better each time i go.

the manna house is a lovely place for lunch. i imagine you could really impress a dedicated sweet-tooth by taking them there, and allowing them to run-riot for an hour of two. their soupy soup is top quality, as well, so i’ll be back to sample from their range of baked goods again, soon. i suggest you do the same
