it’s worth the visit to this dingy bar-come-cabaret styled concert venue. frenchmens street is a great place to escape the sensory overload that is bourbon street, yet still enjoy the music scene. this is where the real muso’s play and you’ll get your fill of jazz/blues or dixie any night of the week. good old-fashioned gumbo and jambalaya here and there’s no shortage of hot sauce to spice things up. if you fancy a burger, try the sliders – there are almost too many sliders to eat from the one plate and if you’re looking to share some snacks, sweet potato fries are a must.

i have been here before 8 yrs, ambiance was awesome... great live performances... i will visit again whenever will come back to new orleans... :)

frenchman street is where you go when you want to dance and listen to the best live jazz in the big easy, not typically to have a good meal.

the maison is somewhere that you can have the best of both worlds, with great live performances and good food.

the mac and cheese is one of the best i had whilst in the states.

it's a fine frenchman venue, and i normally don't eat at them when i'm out for music. the music is always good, weekdays no cover. drinks kinda high, but its a music venue and they normally are. looked at the menu and saw a lobster mac & cheese and i love mac & cheese with lobster or crawfish. got the large portion and it was fabulous.

dissillusioned and sad. we waited for over 20 minutes right by the hostess out in the cold, only to be told we were "undecided" to dine in!!!!!! either someone really hated their job on this particularly special day or was least concerned with who dined in - we were literally left out in the "cold". thoroughly disappointed, disillusioned and sad.

awesome service, and music! out of a lot of signature items this night, however bbq poboy was awesome, as were martins! shrimp and grits were amazing!

i enjoyed every bite! the brussels sprouts were the best i've ever had! their drinks with infused alcohol were a hit or miss. the first one we had with peach vodka and bitters was blan, but the basil and garlic infused one was fantastic!

food was just ok. home fries were just chips. regular fries were cold. other food was what i would say was cheap bar food. not really up to par. try again.

multiple items on the menu were not available. seems like they were out of most of the things people would want. poor planning by their chef.

go for the music, not the food. the maison is a live music club, bar and restaurant. the live music is good, though the sound system is marginal.

if you're going here to eat, don't. the food is barely passable - the jambalaya is among the worst i've ever had, dry and nasty (seemed like reheated from the day before). the caesar salad was fresh, but didn't contain the ingredients you'd expect in a caesar salad. waitress service was slow, and inaccurate.

go here to hear the music, if it's a group you know and like. otherwise steer clear.

i love their infused alcohols! do yourself a favour and order a dirty martini made with their specialty basil & garlic infused vodka. this drink is the best thing i've tasted in new orleans since arriving - truth! great music, space to dance, and friendly service. we will certainly be back, and won't hesitate to suggest it to other travellers!

great!! it was a nice place to hear music away from the tourist attractions. the food was good as well.
