disappointment by the bay. i dined with a group here on a sunday afternoon. first of all, the tap water brought to our table tasted as if it had been pulled from the sea itself. how on earth it got this taste is beyond me. our mains were fine, not fantastic but edible. the desserts were awful - i had the profiteroles, which had less than a half a teaspoon of cream inside each one, leaving them dry and tasteless. another at our table ordered the sticky date pudding, which can only be described as dry and tasteless. the worst part was the service - it took forever for mains and then desserts, even thought there were not a lot of people in the restaurant. there was one waiter with greasy hair, who never stopped chewing his gum with his mouth open, i witnessed him twice show people out onto the deck then point at there table on the other side of the restaurant and leave them to it. we ordered tea with dessert and one on our table was served a filthy cup. no exaggeration - it was filthy. it had black stuff and coffee all over it. when she politely asked for a clean cup, she was rewarded with a dirty look, the waitress then came back with a clean cup and plonked it down on the table without a word. our bill came in at over $150 and for this price for lunch, i expect great food and service. i cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone as it is overrated and overpriced. do yourself a favour and go somewhere else!
