the kirk cafe

stopped here on our way to the hawks bay from auckland. my partner and i decided to share and ordered the southern fried ciabatta and 2 coffees. quantity was perfect for 2. the flavors were amazing, the assortment of sauces went really well with the star, the juicy, tender, crispy fried chicken. definitely recommend the place . nice food, ambience, great customer service.

we were looking for a place for breakfast and this was one of the places that we found. it was a bit further away from the city center being across the river but it is worth the visit. i ti located beside a church, keep an eye out for the cafe flag. they do have a few parking spots but we had to park on the road.
the place wasn't very big but it did have a deck area as well as an outdoor area along with their indoor area. we were seated on the deck area. which was covered so when it did start raining we could just sit and enjoy the sound of raindrops. the outside area had a large table and looked like it was made for those with pets.
after being seated we were given menus. you did have to go up to the counter to order. there is also a cabinet full of interesting food like a tom yum pie or cronut, but we went with the menus.
after a long time to deliberate, i ended up going with the meat flamenco eggs. it was such a filling and delicious meal. it seemed to contain all the meats that they offer as well as other goodies like cheese and mushroom. quite a decent portion of food which was all very tasty in the tomato ragu base. my friend had the french toast and that was quite a pretty and delicious dish. the vanilla mascarpone was really tasty and the french toast itself was really nice, crispy on the outside and almost like pudding on the inside.
it was such an unexpected find. the prices are a bit higher, close to the $30 mark but the amount and taste make it a good value. i think it would have been perfect if they did table service.

five star experience, i mean seriously i can't fault anything about anything in this place.

walked in and greeted by the most amazing smiles and warmest welcome. simple but comfortable setting.

food was exceptional. the food looks as amazing as they taste. presentation is just like looking at pieces of art, vibrant, colourful, well thought. and the taste is heavenly, ingredients are fresh, servings are generous. normally i would give a more detailed description of each dishes, but no words can do justice of their food. you just have to try it to believe it.

loved all the different range components. the kimchi and coleslaw were so good with the tender chicken. the salmon was beaaautiful with the benny and the french toast was amazing.

sacculent juicy 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝗴𝗴 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁 accompanied by smash avo and pickled cabbage sprinkled with some sort of spiced....far outtttt it was zeeee best egg benefit i've ever had it has meat and vege, sweet and savory, soft and crunchy components you name it this dish has it. you gotta try this man!

yes we ordered a simple 𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗼 at a cafe because we wanted something simple and light. it had pomegranate and i believe green tomatos?? it was indeed a refreshing dish and and surprisingly the corn chips lasted the crunchyness throughout our lunch!! i have never ordered a sweet dish from a cafe before but oh my oh my this 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 shed a light at the end of the tunnel! i love everything in it! the summer berries lifted the dish up so much! and that caramelized banana boom upgraded the dish.
what needed to be improved is the coffee though. we ordered mocha, flat white and a latte. it was an unfortunate that all tasted veryyyy watery

in hamilton for the weekend, checked out zomato for cafes, this place already had a high review and safe to say it wasn't wrong. i got the creme brulee french toast with added bacon, my mates also liked their southern fried chicken benedict and baked eggs. staff are friendly, would attend again.

what a find! visited here one morning on a trip to hamilton and ended up going back three mornings in a row. looks pretty unassuming from the outside but the food was fantastic. this was matched by great coffee and exceptionally friendly service.

definitely recommend the french toast & chicken burger, can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!

lovely place to catch up with friends over a simple, scrumptious eggs bene for brunch for $21 and a large hot chocolate for $5. which is a reasonable, cafe price. also had the option of eating indoor or outdoor. however, place does need a bit more space area as it is not ideal for prams when it starts getting crowded & busy.

this is my new favourite cafe in hamilton. the food is fresh and tasty and so colourful. it also has a nice balance of slightly spicy and savoury. i want to try everything on the menu now

the owners and waitresses are always friendly and nice, the food is amazing and the menus change seasonally and what i love the most is their presentation(every dish is very intagramworthy!)

i had to try the charcoal omelette with salmon. unfortunately it didn’t match my tastebuds.
i found the flavours of the seaweed salad in the omelette a weird combo.
presentation was a 10/10
