jolly... jolly... jolly what more can one say about this institution. it's an institution that's been there. for years and i suspect that in 20 yrs time it will be as packed as it is now.

it's one of those true simple good bars.. fresh cold beer and no pretentiousness..
i've never had a bad night and don't think i ever will.
ps pizzas are brilliant. so don't judge and enjoy... ps the house peri peri is amazing.

the jolly roger is a favorite among the local parkhurst crowd and it's easy to see why! the pizza is good, the beer is on tap and the vibe is great! the jolly roger is a great pub with some great old school charm. and it turns into quite a night life party as the sun goes down. the food is really good and in general it is always a fun time.

the place is really small and it can get very busy which adds to the chaos. but the vibe is great and the pizzas are amazing. good flavour and tops are generous.

every joburg-er has at some point had a beer and a wood oven pizza at jolly's! it has been around for as long as i can remember and is one of joburg most popular pizza joints. a great vibe on sunday only made better by the 2 for 1 pizza special! this would be the best way to end off any weekend.

the jolly roger is one of the coolest and best pizza spots around. an old school bar with a wood fired pizza oven at the top, always expect a good time with friends over a beer and pizza. do go on a sunday for 2 for 1 pizza specials.

if you are looking for a pub vibe and cheap food and drinks then this buzzing spot in parkhurst is for you.

the bar downstairs is constantly full of revlers enjoying their beverages, but it is a smoking area unfortunately.

upstairs isn't the neatest space you'll enjoy a meal and the restaurant service is so bad, but it has this inexplicable charm. though that might just be the wine talking after the two for one sunday pizza special.

so fun! this is a cozy place with nice music and nice crowd very fun place!
it is very difficult to get a table and they don´t have waiting list, so i recommend you to reserve a table, specially if there is any game playing. there is always some room in the bar o grab a beer, they have an awesome selection. my fellows were very happy about the draft guiness, the taste by the can is never the same.
❤ pizzas are scrumptious and the homemade hot sauce is a classic in this place, they are very well known for it!
moreover, you can try the pizzas half price on tuesdays, they have very good specials. last sunday they had a bucket of 10 heinekens for 75r! cheaper is impossible i guess.
the waiters are very nice and the music is just a perfect mix. people as well, different people in the very happy mode ;)

as a regular patron.. one of my favourite spots to catch a game or two and have had many pizzas here, tonight was a disaster..

i am shocked at the poor quality control and the fact that neither the chef that prepared this abomination of a pizza and the waitress that served it, thought there was anything wrong. it shows no pride in the product and service.

i can only assume that the reason for their treason was that they thought they would get away with it as i ordered my pizza take away..
my trust in jolly roger's quality was the only reason i did not check the pizza at the pub.. but only discovered the tragedy when i opened it at home ... shock and horror 😳😳

shame on you... especially the pizza cheff and waitress.. you did not do yourself proud this evening...

been to the jolly a few times. today we went with mates who have never been there. what started off with great expectation quickly turned sour. the service is slow as per usual, but hey we used to waiting long for our food. the mexicano pizza is really one of the best i've had. pity management can't see that the fa cup is far more important that a local meaningless rugby match. because of that error in their judgement they lost out on r2000 from the 5 of us.

drinks are absolutely great , love how you’re able to smoke hookah pipe here absolutely ,the food is okay not too bad but not an ideal place to have a big lunch . service overall is great not too slow the staff are accommodative .

if you have not been to jolly's on a sunday afternoon for half price pizza then your seriously missing out! it's pretty much the only venue in joburg that has a vibe on a sunday! great spot to watch sport, always an interesting mix of patrons, awesome atmosphere!

this place is nuts. we tried to get a table on sunday night and it was impossible. we ended up eating at espresso just down the road (which by the way is delicious) and came back for drinks afterwards. guiness on tap, always a plus. the upstairs is filled with the aroma of fresh pizza. the downstairs, well... cigarettes. the crowd is wonderful, i think we met half the bar. i heard they do 2x1 pizzas on wednesdays, will definitely be returning.

this is such an awesome experience, but you should really know what you're getting yourself in for before you go: firstly, on wednesdays and sundays, pizzas are half price. since these are quite possibly some of the best pizzas in jozi, the second thing you should know is get there early (on half price night in particular). third, this is a bar/pub vibe, so please don't come for a date or anything serious. jolly is for laughs, and sports, and friendly-noisiness. fourth, the service will be abysmal. it's the price you pay for amazing pizza that's almost free. oh and did i mention cheap drinks? cheap drinks and cheap pizza. cheap good pizza. like i said: get there early.

aaah, the jolly roger.  i don't know why, but i am not a super fan of the place (probably because it's supposed to remind me of bohemia in stellenbosch, but it doesn't). their pizza is great (specially their half-price-nights).  i also have enjoyed a salad there (weird, i know).  they are open during load shedding, which is a plus, and the waiters always remember you (i think).  they have a juke box which brings a lot of pleasure - and they are great for big sporting events with friends if you manage to get there early and get a good seat.
