the nae has changed

i go to houston for work and fund myself coming here again and again, i love their food and the place itself. it's no longer called the honeymoon café but the service and interiors are pretty much the same.

good brunch, but better late night for delicious coffee/craft cocktails. lovely coffee house ambiance. we had bananas foster french toast and biscuits & gravy for brunch. a little sweet on both, although expected on the french toast. will try again another time.

the french toast is so decadent and delicious!! be prepared for a sweet treat that will keep you full all day. also the salmon with pouched eggs was just as yummy as it is beautiful. pairs excellently with a mimosa or bellini. we had both!

i finally got to catch up with my original foodie crew for a brunch at the honeymoon cafe! i love hanging with these ladies because it is guaranteed to involve great conversation about everything under the sun and of course great food.  there are few people who match my love of eating out, but these ladies do! enough about my crew though, on this day we had an early birthday celebration for my friend adrienne.  birthday girl gets to pick the restaurant and she opted for honeymoon cafe for an afternoon brunch.  this was all of our first time visiting this spot and we had a good time!

great place - don't understand why their rating isn't higher. grabbed espresso there one morning (great), had lunch there one day (really tasty). service was awesome - super fun and friendly. good spot to hit downtown.

i've gone for brunch on two occasions and for drinks one night, and all three experiences were superb. really great service, and reasonable prices for the downtown area. the ambiance is really nice as well.their passion fruit mimosas and americanos really can't be beat!

stopped in here for some beignets and coffee. quite possibly the nastiest dessert i've ever had. the manager needs to try the food before putting it on menu for customers. my husband refused to eat it and he'll eat anything! i didn't expect cafe du monde but a dessert should at least taste somewhat sweet, not like a floury piece of dough that has no taste. i never ever write reviews but it was so bad i felt the need to not let someone else waste their money coming here.

probably the best breakfast spot in all of downtown houston. the fresh, warm beignets with cafe sua da caramel should not be missed. easy to get to via the metrorail red line at 300 main st.

the ambiance here is incredible! my initial visit here was on a day date with my husband, and we loved it. i could come here to study, or with friends as well. this place is a gem, and i hope it stays that way.

the menu, like siphon’s, was developed by amanda mcgraw. we enjoyed a delicious salad lyonnaise with a poached egg, and a generous serving of granola, yogurt, and fresh fruit. the coffee is roasted by heights favorite boomtown coffee.

generous coffee menu with so many choices made with care. buffalo burger with carmelized onions and blue cheese melted in my mouth. prompt and cheerful service. could be my new favorite!
