i am not usually the type to write reviews for restaurants and the like but after such a lovely experience at the grey goose last night i feel like i have to say something! i went for a date night with my boyfriend who had been to the restaurant before and thought i would like it, he was definitely right. despite being a busy nice sunday night we got seated on the patio just around sunset so the atmosphere was to die for. as far as food goes, we split a pizza and had a couple of drinks both of which were totally delicious. the service was certainly slow due to it being busy but i didn't mind the slow pace because of how nice it was outside. overall, the grey goose has certainly made its way onto my list of great restaurants in lexington!

racist hellhole. i dined at grey goose tonight with a group of friends. three of us were white and one african-american. we were seated at the worst table in the restaurant and the waitress consistently ignored my african-american friend. in the end the food was quite good but not worth the aggravation and humiliation. do not patronize this restaurant!!!

no reservations allowed!. huge down-side - the grey goose does not accept reservations whatsoever, regardless of the size of your party. makes it tricky to plan a special event!!!

grey goose is indeed grey. when i say grey goose is "grey," i am referring to the dull, monotonous, colorless atmosphere with bland food. it is not offenseive or distateful but it's not grand, vibrant, or tasteful either. the chairs, the tables, the walls, the umbrellas, etc are all grey. it put me in a very bored and bland state of mind when i ate there. the pizza was way too thin and veggie like when i wanted a more full, cheesy, meaty pizza. the menu was a tad overpriced and lacked variety to some extent. the service is good however. overall, it is highly overrated.

update (june, 2016): we ordered the broccoli cheddar bites, which were very tasty and an interesting alternative to otherwise routine appetizer options. the garden salads were fresh and filling (with house-made ranch dressing). the italian (spicy sausage, green peppers and olives) and pepperoni pizzas hit the spot and did not disappoint (ny-style, hand-rolled, thin crust). i also ordered a piece of key lime pie, which was extremely refreshing after eating so much pizza - our waiter told us that a chef at sullivan university bakes these pies for grey goose, and it was outstanding.

one of our favorite pizzas in lexington. a nice, renovated space, albeit small (especially during the winter when the patio cannot be used), and there is now a convenient parking lot nearby. we recently ordered carry-out, which was ready in only fifteen minutes. the buffalo wings (half-dozen), served with carrots, celery and ranch dressing, were good enough, but nothing extraordinary (same goes for the chocolate cheesecake, with strawberries). the real winner here was the cheese pizza - new york style thin crust, real italian style tomato and basil sauce, and premium mozzarella whole milk cheese.

the pizza is good, but the service is terrible in every way. i have been several times and am always disappointed by the service. long wait for the patio? well, the hostess is too busy texting to monitor the inside seating which is first come first to sit down at a dirty table before the other patrons. the waiters seem very disinterested in helping you. our pizza was not served on the raised pizza apparatus and they did not offer a slice spatula even when asked. my beer (west 6th ipa) was served straight from the can with no glass offered. this happened at both the bar (which was like pulling teeth to get the bartenders attention) and the table. i'm not sure how this place continues to attact the volume or level or clientele it does. other than the patio and light crusted pizza, this establishment falls short of top marks. the blame most likely falls on the management and lack or training for its staff. i wanted to like this restaurant , but after several lackluster experiences, i will not be returning.

as somebody who has been several times, i was pretty disappointed by the waiter/host who informed me that "the patio is full as of ten minutes ago" despite several subsequent parties being seated on the patio less than five minutes after we found a booth inside. it seemed that he wanted us to sit in his section and got his way by misleading us. in addition, the waitress only visited the table once after food was delivered. overall, the food is pretty good but service has consistently lacked—especially tonight. i'm not a restaurant or service snob, but tonight was certainly a disappointment.

"fishy"??. i noticed a very odd smell as soon as i walked in, not sure what it was but very unpleasant. we ordered the beer cheese as an appetizer, while very spicy, cheese flavor is lost, non existent. i ordered the chicken fingers, after one bite i thought i was eating fish. i asked the waitress do you fry your chicken in your fish oil? why are you allergic? she says, no but, i do no like fish. why if it is an allergy concern (as it should be) would you do that in the first place? she asked did i want something else, no i did not. i did not eat the chicken, and was charged for it. not a good way to do business.

wish there was a few more dinner choices.... i have a no-bread-at-dinner rule and it is difficult to find something here. it's mostly pizza and sandwiches with fries as a side.the two basic dinner choices are fried cod and ribeye steak both of which are good but maybe do some kinda entree with a chicken breast?

i know it's pub food, but for those of us who are diabetic, the options here are limited.

pretty good..... first off, i am diabetic and insulin makes me hungry. visiting grey goose at dinner time is a little challenge.there are only 2 entrees, fried cod and ribeye steak. love both but went for the pizza as i had never had it. it may be cooked in a brick oven of some sort, but it still resulted in a burnt bottom of the crust ... as in black burnt. waitress said that was normal but if it tasted burnt she would get another. my fault, i said no. artichoke / spinach appetizer was good but was made crostini-style and a little short on quantity but otherwise tasty. left hungry.
