great bar and grill. the bar/restaurant are awesome! the ambiance is really five stars. the food was really good, too. the steak tartare was great, and the house cocktails are much better than the average. they did overcook my steak - twice! - but the manager handled it very well. he took the steak off the bill (obviously) and gave us $40 vouchers for breakfast.

despite a ratcheting down due to covid, excellent service and quick with the food. we had the lobster club, they didn’t scrimp on the lobster.

austin is a really cool city and has a pretty vibrant downtown life. one place in particular that my friend julia was set on trying was the driskill, a historic hotel with incredible bar.we stopped in for a drink and a small bite. the space is sprawling and comfy. elegant - save for maybe some of the patrons on this evening.

excellent experience. my wife and i celebrated our 55th anniversary there and enjoyed it very much. the dishes were well designed and the fish was cooked perfectly. i was especially impressed with the wine, a pouilly-fume, and the service. although the bar was crowded and noisy, the grill was quiet and pleasant. valet parking was efficient.

love this place!. my husband and i went to the bar for happy hour and just loved it! the batini was absolutely delicious, and we got the truffle popcorn and it was wonderful! loved the ambiance, too. we'll definitely make it a regular haunt during happy hour. 3 cocktails, a snack and a hefty tip came out to about $22 - not bad.

incredibly romantic. my boyfriend and i were looking for another restaurant for dinner after a terrible experience at another restaurant. as we walked down 6th street, we saw the driskill, and the strawberry lemonade attracted the kid in both of us. though we were in dark jeans and nice shirts, we didn't look out of place because there was a nice range of appropriate attire.

the driskill is gorgeous on the interior - both of us decided we'd come back and stay there if we could ever afford the hotel - and the food was good. we ordered the vegetarian pizza, and though it was not a culinary masterpiece, it was decent. the ambience was absolutely romantic and adorable, and i have to disagree with the price $$$$: our pizza was $7 and our lemonades 5 each, yielding a very reasonable bill.

we will definitely be back.

if you like dark and old..... ...this is your place! i happen to like the history of this place and can only imagine the back-room deals that were down here with the capital down the street.

came here for a romantic dinner with my wife and both got the three course dinner with wine pairings. price was reasonable for an upscale restaurant and the food and service were the best i've ever had. excellent atmosphere and i highly recommend this place to anyone with a date!

we went here for breakfast twice. the pancakes and the waffle are very good. both of them came with fresh fruit on top. the fruit was really good considering the time of year. everything is fresh and filling

good happy hour. 4 plates, 2 drinks with tip $25! not bad. we loved the salad and dates appetizers. grilled veggie pizza is pretty good. lamb sliders too gamey.

how many plates in one night!??!. i was very impressed on tasting tuesday. there were 8 of us, each getting about 7 courses. the pacing and presentation was excellent considering the number of dishes that went out of the kitchen that night. i loved the exotic flavors and being able to try more than during a normal dinner. the hotel and restaurant are equally worthy. well worth a visit.

don't go for the food... it's not good. the food is not very good here and the service, not much better. it's an okay place to maybe get a drink and hangout but the food is below average in my opinion.

disappointed.... beautiful restaurant, beautiful food, excellent service, just disappointing. besides being beautiful, the food was uninteresting and quite boring actually. the portions were very small and just very, very typical. not what you would expect at this caliber of restaurant.
