district regular. we've eaten here many times since the first week it opened. the food has always been excellent...the owners are great - they've been through quite a few inexperienced wait staff, but the food makes up for it. steaks -divine, frites - yum, pea salad - delicious, lollipops -so good, garlic mash - great, thomas haas souffle - to die for.....fish specials have always been fabulous.

sets the bar high for the north shore.. we happened to be in the area on a weekend and were hankering for some grub - good thing we found the district!

as the name and business cards suggest, the district is a social restaurant, and from the looks of it, everyone got to know their neighbours. at the same time, the noise level was not overbearing. we enjoyed a delicious panini and a breakfast bowl. since it was still earlier in the day, we did not have cocktails, but they sure looked tempting!

hosted by the owner, paul, the district features a great wine list and also has a "tasting menu" of 3 cheeses and meats. from the looks of it, a great place to stop by before going out for the evening.

more like this on the north shore!. this place has great atmosphere but can get a little cramped and noisy.

try anything and everything off the menu. cocktails are good and strong too!

forget the bad reviews.

my coworker and i split a patat friet, crispy thick cut fries served with peanut sauce, onions and mayo. eating fries with mayonnaise always reminds me of my time in amsterdam, where i strolled along the street, fighting with birds over my fries.

overall, i thought the brunch at the district was worth checking out. the brunch menu has a variety of options to choose from, reasonably priced, and the flavours were good. it’s located near the lonsdale quay so it’s relatively convenient to get to from vancouver.

had a groupon for this place and made reservations for a friday night dinner. it was insanely busy, which is good but do make sure to make reservations! i had the chicken sandwich and really liked it, my boyfriend had a burget which i thought was tasty but he thought was average. different beer selection which was fun, and prices were a bit high but we had a coupon so that evened it out a bit. my boyfriend really disliked this restaurant since it was so cramped and he found that the waitresses bum was pretty much in his face/on the table when she was assisting the people to the sides of us. dark and loud and hard to chat, but the service was friendly. im so-so about this place and probably wont be back...

opened by two north vancouver residents (one of them is originally from the netherlands), the district is a casual neighbourhood social house with a european influence. we were told that mother’s day is the district’s busiest day of the year for brunch.  in order to ensure the best experience for moms on this special day, the restaurant is offering a paired down menu, featuring only the restaurant’s top picks. modern mix vancouver had the opportunity to preview this menu, here’s what we had: the crab cake bowl ($14) crab cake bowl – what’s a mother’s day brunch preview without bringing mom along?  my mom ordered the crab cake bowl.  the crab cakes were soft and flavourful on the inside, and crispy on the outside.  it was nice to have a handful of fresh arugula on top, to balance out the meal.  the

if you find yourself strolling along lonsdale waterfront on the weekend, stop at the district  for brunch. it was recommended to some friends and i a few weeks ago, so we decided to check it out and see what it was all about. the food was so good! the brunch relish and lavender maple syrup were good enough too have on their own. everyone loved their food, even my brother, who doesn’t order anything but the tradition bacon and eggs. the district is small in size and has an open kitchen concept. there’s something about watching the chefs preparing your food that makes it so much more enjoyable. i’m definitely coming back for brunch and can’t wait to make reservations for dinner. brunch is only served on the weekends so make some time and check this place out, you will not be disappointed.   enjoying some caesars on the patio! district benny - crab & shrimp cake. must have, so much flavour. brunch bowl – fried egg, marzano tomato brunch relish, chorizo & hollandiase served with kennebec b

always a pleasure, but staff have gone down in quality. i've been visiting the district for years. their food is incredible, and decently priced - be sure to try the charcuterie plate which has a frequently rotating selection of meats and cheese from local suppliers as well as the burger. the beer is also fantastic - they feature unique brews and great trappist ales. for most, you're looking at $11+ per glass, but it's well worth it.

sadly, over the last year, i have watched the quality of staff get worse and worse. i feel they are hiring younger people who perhaps lack professionalism training, or maybe due to the increased popularity they do not have as long a training period as they used to. i'm not saying the service is terrible or slow by any means, it's just lacking a certain intimacy (for lack of a better term) that used to be there. whatever it may be, it's just not what it used to be service-wise!

despite this, the district remains my favourite spot on the north shore, and i will continue to visit it as often as i can!

service was the best part. the brussels sprouts were delicious. the chorizo puffs were gross, hard, and not "puffy" in any way. the sandwiches were mediocre.

very disappointed by this place. bad food and even worse service. we were told that the muscles were on special that night so we got two orders of those. took us over an hour to get our food and it wasn't even that busy... our waitress basically ignored our table and was very snippy when we asked about the food. we had to reask her for water multiple times as she forgot to refill it and she seemed annoyed the whole time. ironically she had mentioned she worked there for years... you would think service would be excellent for a long term waitress. once we finally got the food it was meh. not coming back here
