please! be quiet!!! at the crest. a thursday night fair-well gathering at the crest was too much for the location. please use our experience to help you plan.

background: we were a group of 20 thirty-somethings, most of who live in the 43214 area (we want to support our neighborhood) saying goodbye to a coworker who is moving.

problems:

(1) we sat at a table that was inconvenient for the servers, aka - we were in the way.

(2) then we moved to the patio... the servers told us the neighborhood was complaining that it was too loud.

(3) the crest's response to this was to tell us to behave, be quiet!!!! in their shoes i would have invited everyone on the patio inside and given them a dollar off their next drink, explained that they were keeping peace with the neighborhood.

(4) i will never drink there with friends because it is embarrassing to go to a bar where you have to talk like you inside the whetstone library ( which is louder actually?!)

(5) we were all paying customers talking and laughing at the bar - where did we go wrong? !

bottom line: there is no laughing on the patio at the crest after 10pm.

great experience, food and staff!!. i went there for my birthday dinner last night and had a large group of around 15 people and the wait staff were very accommodating and nice. our waitress, rachel, was very attentive and nice! our outside waitress, megan, was also very nice when we switched to having drinks outside. i had the lamb burger and it was amazing - and the sweet potato fries are great. everyone at the table was commenting on how good the food was, so overall a great experience. will definitely return!

support the restaurant, but don't park on crestview!. first visit. staff were friendly and energetic, the burger was "so so," the patio was awesome, the $40 parking ticket i received for having parked on crestview...well it was upsetting to say the least. no desire to return, but i do wish the owners good luck; i always like to see local businesses thrive!!

overpriced, trendy restaurant. i really wanted to like this place. i'm glad there's a nice patio and a good beer selection, but that only takes a place so far. my food, the quinoa salad, was tiny and blah. and $9. my boyfriend's fries were stone cold. our server seemed very eager at first and then disappeared. we waited, literally, an hour for our check after asking multiple people for it.
yay for everyone who wants to hype this place, but i'll hype a neighborhood bar/restaurant worth hyping rather than join the trend.

had dinner here tonight. good atmosphere and the patio is nice. they were out of their advertised salmon at 6:30, would not put dressing on the side of a salad, and were out of many beers they had on the menu. been here many times and what makes it worse is they never seem to care about these things. bar does have good service though.

vegan friendly?. i have been two times now, once for drinks and once for dinner. first visit was to the bar, which was great . there are lots of beer selections and the staff at the bar was knowledgeable. the second time i went was just a few days later, this time to eat. our sever was slow and uninterested. i also don't see how they can be advertised as a vegan friendly place. vegan friendly, to me, means that there are multiple items on the menu that can be made vegan easily, which i didn't not find there to be. taking the meat and cheese and dressing off a salad doesn't make you a vegan friendly restaurant. i ordered the port. mush burger and it was cold and not on bread. perhaps our server was not knowledgeable on the vegan friendly items, but i was unimpressed with the food.

i will go back to drink at the bar and on the patio, but there are better vegan friendly places to eat.

lamb burger return. we found the hype to be well deserved. goat cheese is great on anything. they do you the favor of frying it up and adding honey! the lamb burger (med-well) was worth several return visits. the crest burger (med-rare) will be ordered again but w/o the tomato as this made the bottom bun a bit too soggy. several great local brews on tap for sampling and a friendly and helpful staff made for a great evening out. see you again soon crest!
