carousel bar is in the hotel. i thought it was some cheesey dive bar but it's actually a classy establishment. the carousel bar is a novelty and i really wanted to sit there for one drink at least. it's a very busy bar so randomly at 4 in the afternoon on a sunday there was some space but it fills up fast. the two bartenders work non-stop making drinks. most drinks are $12 each so pricey. the bar rotates fully every 14 minutes. yes feels gimmicky but it was fun enough. i tried a sazerac - the official drink of nola since 2008. not sure how that was decided but it's a very whiskey forward drink. service is good once you get the bartenders attention. so have your drink then leave so another person can ride the carousel.

such an iconic new orleans establishment! the carousel is know for its drink menu, but the food is head and shoulders above typical bar food! i would actually come here for the food only

the carousel bar is a very cool experience. it opens at 11am and i would suggest getting there early and waiting for the opening of the doors. there will be people waiting and otherwise you will have to sit elsewhere and miss the rotating bar... or wait to cycle in as people leave. that could be problematic if you have a number of people in your group. it's kind of a novelty stop and i would say you would not want to spend a lot of time here... it's simply something you have to do when you're in the area. they get 5 stars for giving me exactly the experience i was hoping for.

love love the carousel. make sure you stalk the bar and wait for people to vacate their seats. then don’t get up ! was lucky enough to get to sit at the rotating bar. drinks are good, service can be reallllllly slow but it’s just always busy so you have to just accept that that’s how it’s going to be.

the carousel has become the place to hang out in the early afternoon and stay all evening. the bar seats rotate around the bar where you will find some of the best drink makers in the city. try one of nawlins finest....the sazerac.

a great bar with a great atmosphere. located in hotel monteleone this bar is very unique. it actually slowly rotates as you sit at the bar and sip on some exquisitely made cocktails!

cocktails were definitely at the top of the bucket list when we were in new orleans. we had a few obligatory hurricanes, but when we tasted one of those vile grape-flavoured voodoo-slushie things, we realised it was time to up our cocktail game.
and that (and my obsession for pinterest) is how we found the prettiest bar on earth.
a classy carousel for adults, where you can sit, drink the best cocktails and see the world (or at least the bar) unfold in front of your eyes. it was everything i was longing for.

i used to go all the time when i lived here, great drinks and wonderful staff , but i guess times have changed, no smiles and $11.00 for a cocktail, give me a break, it's not worth that, guess i will go find another watering hole

a++++. our party of 9 sat at the bar the afternoon before the muses parade. our bartender marvin was the ultimate professional. what a delightful experience, plus we got to drink with some of the muses :-)

out on the town. nothing short of fabulous! wonderful drinks and staff definitely a place i plan to go back to and a place you should visit if you are ever in new orleans.
