love the cafe! been here a lot and the food is always good. so is the coffee and the service. and it's big enough you never have to wait long for a table.

nice breakfast. went here for a late breakfast. decor a little datey but nice. feels a little more formal than it should be.

the breakfast menu wasn't very big but what was listed was a good variety. i had the strata del giorno with fruit. was like a spinich and bacon quiche. very delicious. the portion was just right and so was the price.

the wait time was about 12 minutes despite there being hardly anyone there... however, it tasted very fresh and i chalk it up to fresh preparation. didn't feel heated up to me.

if you are downtown and want to get some good breakfast, give this place a try.

my son and i stumbled upon this gem by accident on our way home from st.marys. from the moment you walk in they make you feel like family. this is a family owned cafe. jillian was our waitress (daughter of the owner )was so patient as my little josh ordered for himself. she even gave him crayons and a sketch book and of course he drew her a picture.

the food was delicious! i had the nutella banana crepe with a side of home fries. josh ordered from the kids menu and they were nice enough to customize his eggs just the way he likes it. we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the food and will be back to visit.

you are missing out if you haven’t tried this place!

fresh and great food - nice decor and music - breakfast or lunch all day - would return - don't be discouraged by neighborhood - under an overpass- worth the stop

love this restaurant. they have the best tomato soup i've ever had. the wait can be long sometimes but it's worth the wait. fresh made sandwiches, soups and desserts. only thing is i wish they were open later so i could eat here more often.

the soup was the highlight of my day. i work within walking distance of the café. i had the queen anne sandwich (benedictine+) and it was very nice. personally i thought it had maybe a little too much bacon on it for me, buy i also really love benedictine. with it i had the pasta salad and considering it was to go, it was a very full cup, considering its size about standard fare for pasta salad.
the highlight though was the tomato dill soup. it had just a little texture and the flavor was excellent. it was nice and savory and just a little creamy. they sell soup by the quart for takeout and i'm pondering getting some to take home the next time i get something.
their order prep time was very quick. i placed my order once i got there during a packed lunch hour and it was perhaps 5 minutes from the time i placed my order to when they had it ready.
i found the pricing to be comparable to restaurants like mccallister's or jason's deli.
very pleasant experience, i look forward to returning and trying the hot brown or the french provencial.

what happened to dessert?. my favorite part of dining at the cafe was always the cakes. they've changed something and aren't worth ordering now. too bad.

breakfast. ate there with a friend. strata was amazing and our server (thad?) was excellent; attentive without being overbearing. will totally be back for a sandwich... perhaps the italian cream cake as well.

this was my first time eating at the cafe and i must say it was quite the surprise! the atmosphere was wonderful and the service was terrific. i love the urban re-use and revitalization that is in this section of louisville and the cafe is a great example of that mindset. the food portions were just right and arrived to our table promptly. i had the egg and hash scramble with cheese grits all of which were good. it is hard to mess up breakfast and the cafe did a great job of holding the line. this was a good find for our family and we will be back.

really disappointed. i went here for lunch with co-workers as it came very highly recommended. my first (and last) time here there were about 12 of us and all but 4 (including me) got their entire meal. the rest of the group got their meals about 15 minutes after everyone else. all i ordered was a house salad and a cup of soup. we even had the manager come to the table and ask what we had ordered to see if he would be able to bring it out. after about 5 minutes they did bring the rest of the meals out with no apologies and no offer to discount our bill.

i was very disappointed in the lack of the customer service and the overall experience here. it is safe to say i will not be back. which is sad, as i had originally planned on attending the fundraiser there tomorrow.
