come on bluebell ! what's happened? hopefully a one off as we love bluebell normally !
we ordered an adult stack of pancakes with bacon and banana .
granted it was busy but after 1/2 hours we got soggy pancakes on the outside and uncooked batter in the middle my kids would not eat. it was powdery, chewy, batter and inedible.
we asked the waitress to take it back and she asked if we wanted it reheated ?!!!!!
no can you redo it please .
when it returned it was 1/2 the portion we paid for . 1/2 banana 3/4 of pancake and 1/2 bacon.

we asked for our money back and left.
poor form blue bell!

what is wrong with new zealand hospitality industry ?
you ain't doing you us any favours by us coming into your cafe!
i think you need to change your philosophy.

an island bay gem known as the go-to coffee cafe. have lived in island bay myself for the past year and have yet to have a bad experience from breakfast, brunch or catch ups.

good coffee great pies and good place for kids. i love the millionaire brownies they have, best brownie ever. i'm taking of one star because i went there the other day and ordered two millionaire brownies takeaway, instead i was given two plain brownies. i did not realise this till i got to my destination and i went back to get them replaced with what i paid for. they did so with no hassles but it was still an inconvenience in regards to petrol use age. other than that its a great place and i will be back plus i have been recommending it to friends

my partner and i come here every few weeks and we just love it. i reckon they have the best iced chocolates in wellington, everything is in proportion. i also really like the cheese and bacon wedges and they always do good eggs. it’s a great, dependable cafe with very reasonable prices and we always enjoy our meal here.

they have fantastic pies, a good selection of brunch food on their menu and a vast array of sweet treats, which are delicious. they do doughnuts on the weekend which always look great and their lamingtons are amazing - the size of your face! i would always recommend blue belle’s as a solid brunch option. :)

after a frustrating visit to the hospital with my 91 year old mum i decided to take her to island bay for lunch. i spent my first 22 years in the bay. we found a park right outside the café. i had the chicken satay salad and would highly recommend it. mum had the lasagne and ate the lot. very pleasant staff and prompt service. i will definitely be back.

eggs bene is the best in wellington especially with potato rosti. rosti stack is just as good. lots of good food options on menu and in cabinets. pies are always great and they do flight coffee. busy times it's hard to find a table but the food is work waiting it out.

i ordered takeaway breakfast over the phone
it was hard to hear as i was walking my dog
i got there within 15 minutes of the phone call and there was a bit of a mix up as they thought i was having my breakfast there
the kind lady with the accent sorted everything out and the breakfast, hot drinks and the berry smoothie were divine
even though they were busy they still provided top service

i think blue bell is one of best cafe in wellington. food is very good and staff is very friendly. i always enjoyed there. i go every weekends.

not sure what's happened to their pies?? got a stockman, it was barely warm and basically a chewy steak and onion pie with bit of cold hash brown at the bottom. didn't it used to have bacon and cheese too? on top of that pulled piece of fluff out too. yum- not. dissapointing considering other options around

this is one of our local cafés in island bay and my review is an assemblage of multiple visits. the deli style cafe serves tex-mex fare, home-made pies and the usual selection of cakes and baked treats. service can be patchy at busy times but is invariably friendly. seating outside provides a cooling breeze and access to island bay village.  a solid performer without being truly memorable.

been here today 2/11/16 for lunch. me and a friend ordered a frittata each and a coffee and a tea. my friends coffee arrived then our food came, very quick and delicious. i'd nearly finished my lunch and was a bit thirsty. so i went inside and asked if my tea was ready. they didn't know what id ordered so i told them it was an english breakfast tea. the lady who served me said 'oh yeah it'll be straight out'. it arrived within minutes and i let it brew for a few minutes but it was cold and tasteless. we left soon afterwards.
i came all the way from the hutt for a nice lunch, which was very tasty i must admit. but it would have been nice to have a hot cup of tea to go with it.

blue belle is our favourite cafe in island bay! we dine there often, and the food and service is always good! they make their own pies in a variety of delicious flavours and the cooked breakfasts are amazing. the coffee is always good too! i love the vibe of blue belle, its relaxed yet classy, and always bustling which goes to show how popular it is! keep up the good work guys!

quit cosy and comfortable vibe especially on a rainy day.friendly service thank you. the quality of the pies they were turning out was just amazing! love all sort of different pies they make!it's definitely worth a try.now i am a frequent consumer. spinach and chicken.it's just meat vege and juice no rubbish thing put in in order to fill it up!

stopped in for a couple of coffees and a hot chocolate today. the cafe is pleasant, clean and tidy and the service is good. coffees were quick but i have to say perhaps one of the weakest coffee's i have had in wellington. a large latte felt like a shot if that of coffee and just milk where as other spots can go up to three shots and you really taste and feel it as well as the creaminess from the milk.... was disappointed so will try floyds next i think.
