ok .. i'm gonna sound biased writing about this place, having been associated with it ever since it opened at its refurbished location. :)

the art school, or the "vic" as it is fondly called by students and regulars is near the very top of the steep scott street leading into garnethill from sauchiehall. its run by the student association of the glasgow school of art and occupies a position of love within the design community - the new location is now on the side of the newly opened reid building of gsa.

the people who work here are either students or fresh graduates - they are a fun bunch  who will be more than happy to help you with your order. its a very casual set up, so feel free to walk up to the bar and place your oder and chat about art with the bar staff !! in addition to a variety of beers, the bar stocks a lot of williams brother's craft ale and its worth giving that a try. the food in sorts represents the diversity of students in the art school with a fare containing pizzas, dal, fries, hallumi, and vegan stuff (no offence to vegans but i refer to it as stuff, as i cannot better describe non-food !!). the prices are aimed for students so its really light on the pocket. on an average one can fill up for  a fiver.

the crowd is mainly students and artists during the day. not to forget tourists who come to visit the mackintosh building across the street. on occasion you have people having casual business meetings as well - i guess the arty ambience does wonders. come nightfall and the 3 floor venue converts into a nightspot - weekends will more often mean a packed venue. entry fees for these gigs are ranged around £5.

important to note that a minimum of £10 is needed for card transactions, so make sure you are carrying some monies on you.
