thai patio

tough call. maybe it's that i've been pampered by better, cheaper thai food elsewhere, but i'd prefer to try something else before returning here.

to its credit, thai patio is chic, warm, inviting, and the staff is friendly and accomodating.

the food quality, though, is sub-par. it's good, and definitely edible, but aside from not grasping the concept of 'not spicy, please,' the flavors aren't nearly robust enough, and fade far too quickly. it was a lot of little things, like peanuts instead of cashews in a weak massaman curry, or a pad woon sen with a pitiful amount of glass noodles.

the place has a sizeable menu, but i'd rather have a short list of quality dishes, than a long list of merely passable ones.

i have never had such poor service from an owner of a business.
i called to inform the owner that my food was inedible, she argued with me on the phone about how i was wrong and did not know what i was talking about and continued to rant until i was forced to hang up the phone. she then called me back to tell me i'm a stupid american and all us americans want is something for free and laughed into the phone at me and hung up.
i'm sure the food is usually quite good but in this instance it wasn't. i paid $20 for a small portion that was mostly pepper flakes and was told that i was the problem not the food.
the most unprofessional and poor service of my life.

we stopped by for dinner since we had not tried this place before and thai sounded good. my wife had panang curry (#40) with chicken. she really liked it. i had pad gra prao (spicy basil thai style), #27, with pork. both of us ordered medium and they felt a bit hotter than that. service was a bit slow, since there was only one server handling everything until towards the end.

had the chicken pad thai, the satay chicken, mango delight, and tried the golden fried banana.

everything was really good. great service. maybe needed more mango in the delight.

by far the best place i've eaten at! the food comes out hot, fresh and fast. the staff are awesome and their menu is to die for!

fresh and delicious. love this place! my two favorites are veggie delight and king of garlic. medium spicy is pretty spicy. food is always made to order. i would go there more often but the price is a little steep for the atmosphere. if i want a $14 meal i rather pf changs for better ambiance! overall good, fresh food!

i used to enjoy this place. i'd grab a lunch special any chance i had! the past couple times i have been, though, have been under par. i took a friend there, raving, but the server couldn't manage to find the proper ratio for the thai iced tea and the soup was luke warm. this time, i found egg shell in my pad thai... i wish the chef cared as much as i do about that because it definitely was not a pleasant surprise.

some good, some not. really like the food at thai patio, the flavor is good and love the lunch specials, dinner is great. today i did my first take out order, that was my mistake, in house orders have always been plentiful and great but the take out dinner was a smaller portion than the lunch portion. that left me hungry and not too happy. the rice was skimpy and the red garlic river looked like a half order, the cabbage portion almost not there.

every dish is divine. it was interesting to read "chef's" review. the only thing that came to mind is that he/she must be a competitor hoping to sabotage. having recently moved from the dc area where some of the nation's best thai food can be had, i was pleasantly surprised to find such good food in my area. i've enjoyed going through the menu and finding each dish a delight. lunch is especially fun as for such a small amount you get your main dish, spring roll and soup or salad. l16, the peanut curry is a personal favorite, but the food here is fantastic and cooked by the owner - who obviously takes pride in the food being served. my real recommendation can be had in the fact that i eat there whenever possible; truly divine.

chef, scottsdale. we happened to stop be the wallgrens by there restaraunt.
we decide to try it, and we were in for a total, blown me away with food that a starving animal woud run away from from as fast as they can! yuk, yuk.we tried 5 different menu items, and that's what they are! things of yuk. they need to go to a school cooking class and learn from scratch on how to greet, serve, and above all learn how to cook. worst tasting food i have ever eaten. puuuuu.

busines owner 35 yrs. i have never, ever writttne with so much disgust as i have with thai patio. first service is none oo, food quality is a minusfrom 1 to 10 is a minus 20. everything is drenced in curry and even friends that are thai have said this is as close thai, as a rock is gourme food. pad thai was nothing but a glob of sticky noodles with about a half of curry soaked broth. every one said what in the hell is this, nobody would touch it. soups were nothing but cury loaded broth with a tablespon of ?. need i say more other than they will be gone before you no it. any one that writes and says it is goods food has to be either the owners or employes. biggest wate of $40.00 i have ever spent. ask for sample to see what you will be getting, you are all of a sudden going to decide your not hungy any more

awesome!. though i only had thai food once before i tried this place, i think they are awesome! they have a very modern feel, and the food is always fresh and delicious! one of the greatest things is that you get to control your heat level on almost every dish, ranging from mild to super hot. the first few times, i tried different curries, which were all pretty good. my brother really likes their garlic chicken, and my mom the pad prik king. but i have finally landed on my favorite, which is actually their fried rice. this is the best fried rice i have ever had from any restaurant, ever. the soup that you can get with lunch specials is awesome, but unfortunately you can't get it to go, and they don't make it at night. :(
east mesa needs more places like this!

if i was to grade this restaurant like a school paper i would give it an 80%. food tasted good but it was noticeable that some food was reheated. atmosphere was modern with very little asian influence. staff was a little chaotic, and very unkempt...of the two servers frantically wondering around the small space, one was a young man baring two large hickies on his neck and his pants sagging well below his bum, exposing his wash faded underwear for every one to see while they ate! would i eat there again yes, would it be my first choice if i was craving quality thai food...no.

great service!. i was absolutely thrilled when i saw the sign go up for thai patio! i love thai food, but there has never been any restaurants in my area - until now! my friends and i ate there and the food was superb! absolutely the best asian food i have ever had! i have been there several times since then, and even when it's busy, the friendly waiters are always clearly doing their best to make me and others comfortable. the cooks are great too, but that goes without saying. i heartily recommend this restaurant to anyone with taste buds! ha ha, enjoy!
