disappointed. i had lunch at the terra cafe and i ordered the grilled chicken wrap. according to their menu it should have been "sliced grilled chicken breast with roasted habanero & black bean salsa, crisp romaine lettuce, avocado & queso fresco". what i was served was not at all how it was described on their menu. it was very bland and lacked flavor. there wasnt even the smallest hint of habanero. the supposed black bean salsa was just black beans that were hard and not properly cooked. the lettuce was not crisp romaine but instead mixed greens. there was no queso fresco on the wrap but instead a piece of sliced provolone. this was the worst wrap i have ever had.

nice healthy lunch. my go-to place for lunch. great atmosphere, selection changes regularly, and right next to the rail-trail, where i run. love it!

good food, good choices. the process to order is a little awkward. you order at the counter, they bring you your food, but they dont give you a number. i told my wife "this cant work", and watched them go to three tables with the wrong order, but ours was right. food was good and they have a nice tea selection.

consistently amazing. what a wonderful addition to the morgantown restaurant community! fresh, local ingredients, a creative menu, delicious food, and wonderful service. not sure you could ask for much more!

the curried chicken salad is my absolute favorite item on the menu, but everything i've tried has been great. the fresh-baked bread (especially the croissants) is mouth-watering, and rivals any bakery in town. the oatmeal raisin cookies are another delight.

the addition of several vegetarian items to the specials menu is refreshing to see. they really do have something for everyone.

i was a regular patron for 5 years. don't know how i stood it. awful classic rock played loud on the ceiling speakers. gems like, "who'll stop the rain", by ccr. they played so much ccr i thought they should re-name the place to the creedence clearwater cafe. you'd think a classy place like the terra cafe would play something more mellow. the music was really painful for me. i asked them to change it many times but was ignored.

nice location, off the bike trail, away from the annoying wvu students and close to the golden corral.

the food was too expensive for me. only ate there a couple times. it was ok. whenever i got hungry i'd go acorss the road to the golden corral.

coffee's better than panera but not as good as the blue moose.

visiting the terra cafe was a good way to get exercise riding my bike and a way to limit my internet use, which i tend to overuse. and i love the golden corral.

the mushrooms on the salad were the highlight. let's start there in order to be off on a high note. sadly, there ain't no others coming. a friend took me here for a late lunch last week and, always enjoying a new eating experience around the morgantown area, i was happy to go.  the other highlight would probably be that the staff was friendly. so now we have great mushrooms on the salad and a friendly staff. too bad the friendly staff could not prepare a salad and deliver it to my table within twenty minutes. twenty minutes! a salad! had to actually go back up to the counter to inquire about it! i am giving terra cafe a 2.0 and as i sit here typing and seeing that rating up above, i keep thinking to myself "that is too high"...

awful experience!!!!!!

a month ago i would have strongly agreed with terra cafe being voted bom breakfast, but unfortunately i now do not feel this way.

for years i've enjoyed eating at terra, mainly for the fresh delicious food! when my boyfriend and i invited his parents to join us at terra for brunch, we thought they'd fall in love with it! it was a couple sunday's ago, around 1pm, we walked in and were sad to see the sunday brunch wasn't going on. though this was a bummer, we quickly recovered and ordered some delicious food. it was very busy and as we looked for a table there were a few empty but completely dirty! mind you, i'm very understanding and know what it's like to work in the service industry. so, we sat down and waited. as multiple waitresses walked by, nobody stopped to greet us, nobody said they would come clean the table, nothing. this was annoying and went on for 5 mins or more. after trying to get someone's attention i just ended up grabbing a near by spray bottle and rag and wiping down our own table. shortly after cleaning the table then a waitress noticed us, grabbed the spray bottle from me and said "thanks". really? are you serious? "thanks"? shouldn't you be apologizing for ignoring us and perhaps ask if we need anything? because that's exactly what i would have done if i saw a customer having to clean their own table!

after this, we were rather annoyed and my boyfriend's parents already had an awful impression of this place from the start. as we sat and drank our coffee, we talked. and we talked for awhile. almost twenty minutes of talking we realized that we had no food. yes, it was busy but nothing and nobody acknowledging us. after we realized we had been waiting for a long time, we noticed orders that were the same as ours coming out, waiters looking around for who it belonged to, then taking it back to the kitchen? so, my boyfriend grab a waiter and asked about our food, the young guy said he'd check on it. the waiter returned with news that they ran out of the quiche, which was what two of us had ordered and already paid for! we paid for food that wasn't even able? why weren't we noticed immediately? as soon as they put in the order the kitchen should have told them they didn't have anymore! or at least have notified the staff as soon as it ran out! instead we paid, sat, cleaned our own table, and waited twenty minutes or more just to be told they didn't have our food? it was the most unprofessional thing i had ever experienced. the waiter did apologize, but it didn't make up for the completely shitty service we had received. it seemed almost that it was everyone's first day working at a job, ever!

after saying we could order something else (thanks), my boyfriend's parents decided on somethings else and ordered. but we continued to wait for the other food which still wasn't coming out. at this point, our patience had been pushed and we all began to get very angry and not even want our food. i walked up to the front and asked for the manager, he apologized and was nice, but didn't seem too put off by it. we just said we wanted our money back. i walked out as my boyfriends father waited for the manager to refund his card. on top of everything that had happen, the manager said he could refund everything but the tip that had been put on the card. really? you provide shitty service and can't even refund all of our money? and no less the tip that we put on the card before we realized we'd be getting the shittest service of our life?

so, it's safe and sad to say, i will never be returning to terra again. i'm a very easy going person, and again, know what it's like to work in the customer service industry (because i have for years). i expect people to be friendly, helpful, and nice. this was the complete opposite. i have never been so mad at a restaurant before. and the saddest part, terra does have really great food. too bad they lost two loyal customers because they couldn't hire a more experienced staff.

food is pretty much hit or miss. sometimes great, other times disappointing. somewhat overpriced and often a smug atmosphere. worth a try though.

i had the pleasure of sampling some of terra's food during the winter blues farmers market tonight and i have to say.. i was highly impressed. even in a big vendor atmosphere like this, they presented their food with class and great service. the employees are fantastic.

but what hooked me immediately, was the brisket and bleu cheese keish. omg! it will take some time for me to find a keish that remotely compares. bravo!

"terra cafe" is latin for dirt restaurant, and you can certainly taste it! weird theme for a restaurant, but there always seems to be a crowd.
i recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants to feel smug about buying organic/overpaying for earth-friendly "food."

jonathons' belly. a sad day at the terra café...once a breakfast fav, the french toast was re-heated before "riders on the storm" was half-way through its' second riff of oddly hypnotic sequences. love the coffee, the locale, the bacon, but the cooks were playing by the numbers this morning. not much less appealing than semi-warm french toast. should've stuck with leftover pizza at home. sorry, tc, you broke the "l" from your usual "tlc" this morning. formally yours, jb

usually this cafe is pretty good. good foods, nice and comfortable atmosphere. today's service & foods were pretty bad. ordered lox, we were told they're out of smoked salmon, so they will make it with broiled salmon. understandable they don't have smoked salmon, but it was the server's attitude i didn't appreciate. she was basically "tellng" us to get whatever they offer. coffee stamp card? we bought three coffees, and why do i get only one stamp for coffee? we even paid all together. when i asked the casher to give me more stamps for what we've got, he reluctantly gave me one more.
santa fe wrap was basically an egg wrap. i always get santa fe wrap and never had this much eggs and so little of avocado plus salsa. for this cafe you have to pick a good day. disappointment.
