a middle view. too be fair, admittedly, the restaurant is not my usual type of place. it's fancier, less pubby, than i usually go too. and i'm definitely not a believer that more expensive means better. too start, it is a very impressive looking place. classy. i can see that it might be a place many people would want to go on a special occasion. i'm big on bread and it was just fine. three kinds, all soft and tasty. not the best i ever had, but very good and enough for the two of us. we turned down a second basket. i was not especially impressed with the duck fries, which they claim are unique to them. maybe they are. but, they looked and tasted like most french fries to me, just fewer of them. however, as they were only $3 they made a good appetizer for two. the only dish we were really disappointed with taste-wise were the salads we had. she had a caesar salad and i had mozzarella and tomatoes. they were eh. i've had so many awesome salads in restaurants lately (and for cheaper), that i can't give them high marks for it. i had the chicken and my gf had fish for entrees. there were very good, although i wouldn't say remarkable. i saw some criticism of the service in other reviews. i had no problem with it, although there was a little language barrier. they were attentive enough without being overly so. the only other issue is price, which for me was too steep. we had no alcohol, had reasonably inexpensive items and the bill came to about $132. i find i can have a great meal for $50-75.00 usually - some places less. i suppose some might say a review can't be complete without trying a steak in a chop house or dessert. maybe so. but, overall, i will just say, for what i had, it was okay, but too expensive for my tastes.
