just ok. heard a lot about this place, so gave it a shot. ordered the full pork ribs and beef, both med sauces. jo jos were greasy and stuck together. sauce was just ok and was sparse on the meats- extra costs money. the bread is just two slices of wonder bread, not texas toast or anything similar. couldn't swap out the sides- cole slaw was meh. caps is much better, and honestly would rather go to famous dave's.

we ordered a feast full of almost everything ted cook’s has to offer, starting with a couple of slabs of pork ribs in medium sauce. these were meaty and tender, with a wonderful smoky flavor embedded into the meat. i am a big critic when it comes to barbeque sauces and tend to prefer mustard-based sauces over tomato-based, but i really liked this medium sauce from ted cook’s. it was slightly spicy, tangy.

a true gem. bring your own pint jar to bring home some of their bone suckin sauce for five bucks.

pork ribs to die for!. hands down the best pork ribs in the twin cities! i am always bummed out when i am craving ribs on a monday when they happen to be closed. they have never disappointed! prices are a little high, but worth it! i love a cornbread on the side.

only thing i did not like about ted cook's is the price. the wait time, the sauce, the food is great. the price of little higher than expected but also you have to take account for the labor. but other than that everything else is great. i drive there 30 miles just to eat there.

great bbq! love the simple atmosphere and extremely friendly staff. have had bbq ribs and also bbq chicken and both were excellent. sides were very tasty! we will be back for sure.

great ribs. stopped by on way back from moa, picked up full rack of pork ribs, mild. the sides were ordinary, but the ribs absolutely perfect. not at all dry, marvelous sauce with a teasing sweet/sour balance. we'll try the next level of heat next time.

horrible customer service. went there today and was treated horribly by the guy standing behind the register. i went there to pickup bbq for my grandparents and he wouldnt let me pay for it becuae i didnt have his id on me and he is in the nursing home and has since lost his id, the horrible thing is the guy knows who i am becuase i live on 38th street. he is always so mean and never has a smile on his face, do yourself a favor and never go here! go down hiawatha to caps were they have fantastic bbq and serve you with a smile!

just ok.... not gonna say i disliked it, but i can't give it a thumbs up either. the ribs were good, don't get me wrong. they just weren't awesome. i wouldn't turn them down, but i won't make a special trip to get them either. forget the jojo's. they were a greasy mess. pretty much a solid clump once we got the box open. soggy and stuck together and actually not real good. ted's is ok, but not worth the hype.

i've been eating ribs here since 1974 - none better. i wonder where they get their meat, so meaty and good. i love the hot sauce, it burns but the flavor is wonderful. i love to dip my jojos in it and sweat - devine

good bbq. we always order take out from here when in minneapolis. love the beans and rice and in fact, kept the beans in a cooler and drove 6 hours home with them. they are kind of inconsistent in the quality. last time had the beef rib dinner (mild) and found it tasty although the beef ribs were over cooked/burnt. the jo jo potatotes (like thick home made potato chips) were very tasty and not greasy this time. the coleslaw is average. find the corn muffins very dry. i like spicy food but find the spicy bbq sauce takes away from my enjoyment of the meat so i usually order mild. find the collard greens too tart & sour, but i am no collard greens expert so perhaps they are supposed to be that way. it is cute how you get two pieces of bread with your meal. did not care for the sweet potatoe pie.

pork ribs dinner. brought home a full pork ribs rack to the family for the first time but i wasn't as impressed as the rest. dry ribs, sauce that was lack-luster (i ordered the medium), more like ketchup. the jo-jos were great and the cole slaw was good as well. i've had barbeque all over the country and this really wasn't that special.
