taste of khyber, an absolutely rubbish restaurant / takeaway.
overpriced, cheap ingredients & tasteless.
main restaurant seating area was shut due to pandemic. but take away section was open. kabuli pulao was made with inferior ingredients including green raisins (cheapest type). to my horror, in the microwave was warmed few days old kabuli pulao in a styrofoam container and latter was served in the same. seekh kebab, chicken tikka & chapli kebab nothing was marinated properly and almost everything tasted like chewing the cardboard. chapli kebab were fried in black months old burnt oil and didn’t look appetising. also chapli kebab mixture was overpowered by bicarbonate of soda and tasted awful. chicken tikka was over cooked & chewy.
despite being so hungry didn’t enjoy anything at all. searching afterwards on the net found out about the £20,000 fine to taste of khyber director zahoor khan on 12 breaches of food hygiene regulations. including rats dropping in the food cartons and work counter area. shame i didn’t read these before.
absolutely rubbish place, never ever again.
