smells like a sewer, workers dumping trash over the fense in back of business. this restaurant and it;'s employees keep dumping their trash, empty orange juice bottles, beer and soda cans plus all other sorts of trash. you should also see the back fo the business, it stinksbecause the grease trap leaks. not a healthy place to eat. i have called the city on them twice.
go to el sazon down the street. better food and a lower price.

good food for a grat price. if you live in san antonio, you're blessed with having a taqueria on almost every street corner. competition like that ensures survival of the fittest; both on a quality and price point.

take taqueria el rodeo de jalisco for example: delicious food at very reasonable prices with outstanding service. i am a huge fan of their breakfast tacos; you get really inexpensive, delicious tacos that are proportioned correctly.

in an effort to save money, i have noticed many taquerias seem to be shrinking their breakfast tacos....not at el rodeo de jalisco! they're consistently generous with their portions. and, in my opinion, this place has the best chorizo & egg tacos in town. este es mi opinion,

prices are outstanding, even in this down economy of 2009-2010; rodeo de jalisco has kept prices affordable.

service - one word: great! it seems this is a family-run business so things are run with attention to detail and service. the wait staff is helpful and very efficient and the counter staff is awesome; the guy who handles the register maintains a fast pace, is courteous and never misses a beat. that's how to run a business!

i've been eating here since 2003, so if you want really good texmex food at a bargain price in the seaworld potranco area, give " taqueria el rodeo de jalisco 9714 potranco rd
san antonio tx, 210-680-9096" a try! and see for yourself what it is all about

average at best for tex-mex, breakfast tacos, tortillas and salsa; i've had their breakfast tacos at the office several times so that is what i will offer an opinion on. they move a lot of breakfast tacos through this place and on some occasions they are very good; however, on several occasions, the quality has been bad. the reason is this: it appears that they allow the ingredients to sit too long under a heat lamp. the result... very dried-out or burnt bacon, chorizo and machacado; dried out potatoes, beans and eggs; carne guisada has a lot of grease and gristle; flour tortillas sit too long under the heat lamp and get quite crispy ( not a good thing). in this area, i'd be inclined to go to the datapoint mexican restaurant, las palapas, taco tote or mimi's tacos. as for dining in, they appear to have a large following of loyal customers so perhaps, fresh plates may be better. hope this helps!

not my first rodeo!. this is not the first rodeo for this tex-mex cowboy diner, but it was the first time to come here. not sure how i missed it as i understand that it has been open for a number of years. it used to be much smaller, but i believe they took over a schlotzky's that was next door. now the place is a large one room expanse of tables with the front entry area comprised of an all glass "wall" looks rather like a fish bowl as you approach the restaurant from the parking lot and can dimly make out all the diners sitting at the tables inside along the anterior glass wall.

seat yourself is the name of the game for the main event at this rodeo. it was a bit more than 10 seconds on the clock for us to haul down a waitress and rope in some menus, but not long enough to give us rope burn. love the trans-border typical menus with colorful photos of the various dishes offered. although the menu said breakfast ended at 11am, they did not flinch when i ordered migas and a mexican coke at 11:30 am.

right out of the chute our plates were piping hot from the kitchen . . .large portion of fluffy migas with tasty fried papas and savory refrieds. the flour tortillas were also some of the best i have had. it gets to the point though, with so many places having good flour tortillas that you almost need to have a side by side taste test in order to determine your top 10. my wife's picadillo plate was also well spiced (not hot, just savory) and a good representation of the dish.

besides the very good food served here, the prices are get thrown from the bull face first in the dirt cheap. this place is no goat rope, so, next time you saddle up your cayuse and are in the colonnade area, get your caboose over to this rodeo for some bronco riding good tex.-mexican eats.

great cheap place!. we live in the neighborhood and eat here almost 2 times a month. we have never had a problem with our food, service, or prices. the staff are very friendly, and the wait for food isn't very long at all. to one of the commentors below...they do not throw their trash ect over a fence because there is no fence. and the grease trap that leaks is from the chinese place in the same strip. the building is clean on the inside and only smells every once in a while because two doors down in the same strip they are renovating to open a store, the smell of paint ect travels through all the vents in that strip causing every bldg there to smell. my family has never gotten sick from eating there, and it's only unhealthy because of the style of food it is!

i had the chicken enchiladas verdes. the chicken was well seasoned and had good flavor. wouldn't go out of my way for them, but will be back when in the neighborhood.

i was leery of the carne guisada plate but was hopeful. it let me down. as i feared, the meat was not of great quality and had fat on just about every cube. the guisada sauce was runny and bland - not flavorful like a good guisada should be imho. friend had the crispy beef tacos and those had much more flavor. another friend had the lengua and said it was the worst ever. all in all, i wasn't really surprised. it's about what i expected. i just try to be open minded and explore the menu since i have friends that like this place more than i do.

portions are very large here. prices are pretty typical; maybe slightly higher but the amount of food more than makes up for it. the eating area is large and wide open so noise really carries. it feels like they are trying to maximize how many customers they can fit in there. it's another restaurant that i'm a little scared to see the kitchen and see how clean they operate. meat quality isn't the best but it's expected at these prices. i haven't had any issues here and the food has been decent, i just don't like to press my luck too much.
