not bad, especially this far from the border.. i read a lot of good things about this place, so i was expecting some good tacos...with nice soft corn tortillas, some juicy meat and fresh veggies...a little bit of grease wouldn't be bad either... but what i got was okay too. not what i am use to, but considering there is almost no mexican food, it was okay. the chile left something to be desired for too, it was too watery. maybe i should go to the other location on kenedy. this review... to be continued!

fantastic simple tacos and mexican food. love the lengua (beef tongue) but never been disappointed. don't expect anything complicated though. this reminds me of the simpler corner taco joints in mexico

yes, the place is a bit of a dive and the dining area lacking in ambience. but what makes this establishment worthwhile is the dishes that are worth the trip, starting with their tacos (al pastor and the seafood kinds were my favorite), the tostadas, the ethereally light yet savory red and green tamales that raised my eyebrows, the pork house special cooked in that can’t-get-enough tangy and spicy green sauce, and that irresistible pozole stew that just blew me away.

do not order al pastor, it is not made on the spinning spit to allow the pineapple juice and fat to drop down. quaint place with good salsa nonetheless

this summer has treated my stomach well.  i've been eating all over town and loving every minute.  where have you been eating and drinking this summer?   i made another trip to el chucho cocina superior.  you just can't go wrong with their street corn and $5 margs. izakaya seki offers japanese food and great service.  we really liked the wasabi chicken tenders and the cream croquettes with bechamel, crab and corn.  they also have my favorite sparkling sake.     looking for late night  restaurant judy has the best pork and cheese pupusas at really great prices.     taqueria distrito federal may look like a hole in the wall, but the food is actually pretty good.  i liked the beef burrito with the salsa de aguacate.     i finally made a long overdue visit to the columbia room.  this cute and small rooms offers delicious cocktails.  katie nelson is not only knowledgeable, but she makes a mean pimm's cup.  looking forward to checking it out again to try the tasting menu.     another first,

tiny restaurant with very authentic mexican food. enjoy a juice drink or "agua fresca" taken from a large, cold, glass barrel. the entres have a flavor that is not typical of many other mexican restaurants, but if you are in the area it is worth a trip for the no frills ethnic dining experience.

the place is a little neighborhood restaurant with only 5 or 6 tables, a small counter and an outdoor space. the waitress was very efficient and took our orders right away.

tucked away in a questionable part of columbia heights, is this tiny little restaurant that serves up magical mexican food. the owner of tacqueria distrito federal , luis, always has a friendly smile, and his daughters play outside in the summer

this is definitely the kind of mexican-style food we’ve been looking for, and it may well be the best of what’s around (especially if you’re hungry after taqueria nacional has already closed down for the day).
