not bad for a locale sushi place in alameda. nigiri and basically all portions of the food was quite big and generous, you can pretty much just share a meal.

staff were efficient and friendly, although that one bald asian staff look rather annoyed at one point when we were asking for take away containers.

the tables could also do a good wipe down, felt sort of sticky some areas but the overall place was good, especially you have the view of the waters and beach.

food vs service. 8 years a regular customer -- old location and new -- the food is great, when you get exactly what you order. but i keep going back for the food, not the service. in-house service is fair. take out service is bad. not because of the smiling hostesses, but because after all these years i still forget to check the order before i get home. it has been wrong at least 90% of the time when i pick it up., involving a drive back to the restaurant. i doubt i will ever order take-out here again, but i'll always go in because the food, view and music are great.

this place is always packed! they have great sushi & it's always fresh! a true hidden gem and an absolute must everytime i come to visit! highly recommended & a delight to dine at every time!

the sushi here is different..more on the veggie side..it's all fresh & delicious though..service is great & it's very open atmosphere..oh & it's right across the street from the alameda beach..should def try the roll with scallops..deeeelicious

the sashimi was exelent service was great and the food came fast to our table, you should come early as it gets very busy in the afternoon.

this is as fast food as sushi gets: cheap, filling, and not as high quality as what japanese food is traditionally considered. plus the wait is long, especially on the weekends. but i still go for the rolls (don't bother with anything else). in particular: lion king, bay scallop, webster, island, lambada, or anything with fried and saucy ingredients. if you don't want to wait for a table or a seat at the bar, call for takeout

i love this place.. as others have said, the service is terrible. but the food is so good i just can't stay away. i always do keep the service in mind, but i usually just suck it up and enjoy the grub. there are so many awesome rolls for a great price, and their salad dressing is the best! love it.

great food! unfortunately, not the service. i have been to this restaurant a lot of times just for the food. and each and every time their service is bad and slow. they really need to start hiring qualified workers.

i love there food but service is okay a i love the salad and when i was sick i drank the soup and it made me feel better

unfortunately, i have to agree with kiray. the food is good, but the service is spotty. depending on your server, you may get completely ignored for simple requests like water or extra sauce. the food is this place's only saving grace.

food was great but customer service was very bad. it took at least 10 mins for us to get our glasses of water. they should hire more servers since they moved to a bigger place!!
