let us take a look at some of the facts first.
super donuts, founded by ketan kalra in 2012 is a chandigarh based doughnut company and a coffeehouse chain that has recently opened an outlet in dehradun. after an extensive research on the donut market in abroad, he decided to give a shot to this american concept with an indian twist.
super donuts aims to keep ‘health’ in focus, in 2013, they introduced bagels, wraps and shakes for the health conscious and sugar free crowd which also included a protein shake. soon by 2015, they introduced a variety of burgers, hotdogs, nachos, fries and smoothies. they also have included “the big black burger” in their menu, keeping their food in the trending zone. the brand has also come up with the first-of-its-kind-donut cake for special occasions.

ambience and décor:
now days, where cafes and bistros are opting for a more retro - contemporary décor, super donuts present you with a much brighter – colorful ambience. “cute” is not a word i normally include in my description for decors, but super donut actually has a very cute ambience, in my perspective quite similar to an ice cream parlor, very lively and colorful.
this outlet is probably the most spacious outlet of super donuts, with a vast indoor seating arrangement. very apt for large gatherings. the multi-colored chairs and the ‘macaroon’ shaped stools, are simply scrumptious!! something unique and different in town and quite appealing to the youngsters and toddlers alike.
the graffiti wall with the drooling donuts and mouth watering quotes, posters with all the yummies that they offer, all add up to the outlets attraction.
food & beverages:
superdonuts has taken an initiative to take culinary offerings a step ahead. they have brought the “black food” legacy all the way to our beautiful doon valley by introducing “the big black burger”, being the only outlet that serves it in town. talking about the black burger they are supposedly made with activated charcoal and are said to have digestive properties, making it good for your gut. they come in varied colors- green and pink and yes they claim no food coloring is added to it. isn’t it amazing? :)
they aim at luring the hearts of the customers by catering to their demands of their palate with a range of yummies and also by introducing an indian twist to their food. another surprise that super donuts holds for the foodies are the donuts, oh well! not just the sweet ones but the savory donuts! yes, you read it right! they serve donuts with chicken, veggies and pizza toppings loaded with cheese. like mini donut pizzas, do-pi?

on top a myriad variety to offer. be it spicy nachos or cheesy fries or the trending black burgers to the super freaky freak shakes! the range and presentation of food and beverages is impeccable. also the freak shakes that they serve are super delicious with the visually appealing classic beakers and flasks, taking you back onto the freaky journey of your chemistry class. and health freaks, don’t just worry… there is the “power punch” shake prepared with whey, just for you.
some of the goodies that i had a chance to taste:
- fries & nachos:
i loved their nachos with delicious mexican salsa topping and mayonnaise, one of the best! not at all soggy, very crispy and creamy. and the fries were totally lip smacking tossed in peri peri dip, and were super cheesy. love the presentation of the fries as they were placed in a small glass bowl. they also offer other toppings like jalapeno, keema and chicken ranch for the non - vegetarians. they are sure to make you satisfied with their “satis-fries”.
- super burgers:
1. big black burger – this is a gorgeous black bun, double patty burger filled with veggies, cheese and in house sauce. the best thing about this burger is that it is prepared with activated charcoal, it is super soft and no extra effort is needed to chew it down. so eventually it is also digested easily, making it gut-friendly.
2. new yorker – this is a soft black bun burger, prepared with juicy, spiced chicken patty and in house sauce, fascinatingly topped with cheesy fries.
- chucklers:
1. sloppy joes – a green bun burger, stuffed with chicken breast, crunchy lettuce, some onion jam and in house sauce. this one goes perfect for the chicken lovers!
2. the spartans – coleslaw (salad consisting of finely shredded cabbage), herbed chilli potato patty, american pepper sauce, and veggie’s delight is the one for the non- vegetarian crowd.
- superdogs:
1. potato skillet – prepared with crunchy potato, cheese, veggies and chipotle. ultra delicious, very american looking hotdogs!
2. chicken chipotle – this one has a soft bun with a chicken frank in between topped with mexican salsa.
- wraps:
1. potato crunch – tortilla wrap served with a filling of crispy potato, crunchy veggies topped with in house sauces. mouth watering!
2. crispy chicken fiery – tortilla wrap, with crispy chicken, crispy veggies and in house sauce.
- loaf sandwiches:
1. the bawse - freshly baked loaf with a centre of crunchy veggies, crispy potato skillet, topped with complimenting sauce.
they also serve delicious grilled sandwiches.
- salads:
1. cottage cheese caesar: prepared with lettuce, cheese, bread crutons, mayo, olive oil, sauce and spices. tasty but not really my cup of tea.
- pastas:
penne alfredo prepared with bell peppers, mushrooms, capsicum, and broccoli served in creamy white sauce.
- beverages:
there is a huge variety of shakes, mocktails and smoothies to try out from. lovely presentation, surely to excite your taste buds. you’d wish you could taste ‘em all!
1. freak shakes: these will freak your eyes out!
- birthday bash – this shake is scrumptiously prepared with oreo and berries and is topped with whipped cream, gems, kitkat, and marshmallows, cookie, and wafer.
- do not freak out – this one is loaded with brownies and ice cream styled with whipped cream, a donut, cookie, and wafer.
2. american thick shakes:
- mojo brown - loaded with brownies
- red devil – red velvet + oreos mix
- billion dollar - prepared with nutella, ferrero rocher and strawberries. yummy!
- the cpb – chocolate and peanut butter
- choco brain freeze
3. super drinks:
- fly to hawaii
- arctic blu
- fruit punch
- donuts:
all the donuts are freshly prepared and delicious and definitely worth giving a shot!
1. team double – prepared with a chocolate filling on the inside with milk choco glazed on the top.
2. boston crème – choco glazed filled with light vanilla custard.
3. crème caramel – a perfect combination of caramel and vanilla custard.
4. hopscotch – butterscotch filling topped with white truffle & butterscotch crunchies.
5. black forest – a black truffle crème filled donut.
6. rocky road – a chocolate glazed donut topped with kitkat chunks & caramel.
7. cookie dough master – sweet chocolate layered with lip smacking choco fudge cookies, butterscotch crunchies & prepared with a dash of caramel, sure to make anyone drool.
8. blueberry jam ball – soft and fluffy donut filled with blueberry jam, dusted with caster sugar. a must try!
9. chicken tikka donut – all time favorite punjabi delight.
10. down town pizza – toppings of your favorite veggies on ring donut. over loaded with mozzarella cheese, herded spices and chipotle.
the prices are reasonable, the staff is very friendly & the food is mouth-watering! what else do ya need? give 'em a visit! : )
