it's sad that i can't share pictures of the food but let me take you through the food-

so you gotta build your own stack here. choose whatever you want from the options they have, try something new each time you're here. the quality of food is mind blowing. loved their chicken, so tender and so well cooked. burger of the day is when you don't wanna think a lot haha daily recommendation of the chef. their wings are amazing, do try it out. please come to india!

service took a little time, owe it to the crowd but it was okay. place is great, if i go back i'm definitely going back again!

the cheapest burgers you can find in the shady side area. you can also build your own burger for them to make it exactly how you want it. the wait is very short which is always a plus

ambience : it's a lively place and it's buzzing with people. the crowd is great mostly due to the location.

food & beverages : they have a build your own burger option where in you can customize a burger as per your choice and taste buds. you can pick your sauces as spicy as we indians like it. it's inexpensive. doesn't create a hole in your pocket and is totally worth the money. they serve a delicious mac and cheese! do try it.

staff & service : the staff is fine but it's got a quick service.

total value for money.

one of the coolest build your own burger places i've visited... the choice is extensive and you can actually really customise your burger to you're liking.
so it's customised to your taste buds be it spicy or sweet sauce and also the cheese, bread and the patty..
i really liked it and you should definitely visit it if you like burgers !!

back home you don't get to make your burger, and this was a refreshing experience. and coming from a part of the country where spicy means everything, it had been a while since i ate something that turned my taste buds on. located right opposite oakland primanti bros and near the university if pittsburgh campus, it's got a beautiful spot to chill.
1)ambience - very different and very lively. the people here are amazing. lot of tables with mezzanine floor as well.
2)menu- you just get to make your own burger. since i am a vegetarian i opted for the veggie option. you can choose the veggies to be put, if you want it spicy i suggest the jalapeños and yellow pepper. make sure to add the pepper jack cheese. the sauce was the best i have had. apart from the standard mustard and ketchup, please do make it a point to try the inedible sauce as they call it. it's just amazing if you love spicy food. i chose the seasame bun. the burger was delicious and the patty cooked to perfection.
3)price - very light on the pocket and worth every penny you pay.
i will recommend this place 9 out of 10 times, i absolutely loved it. it's my first 5.0 and deserved every bit of it.

it's not burgatory but...... i went here last night after passing by many, many times while out in shadyside. i love the burger/craft beer concept so i was eager to try stack'd even though by the reviews i was not expecting a burger as good as the ones i have had at burgatory. i was right in that assumption-but more on the food later. let me start with the positives from stack'd:the set up is very nice-all of the booths have an individual tv at them. we sat at the bar which is basic and functional but still nice to watch sports at. the draft list was pretty solid-bell's two hearted (my personal favorite), dogfish head 60 min ipa (what i drank last night),yuengling, redds apple ale, victory hop-it was a decent variety that seems to have something for everyone. yuengling pitchers are $6 all day everyday which is a great price. also they run food specials for half price burgers on tuesday but we arrived too early for that. the best food item we ordered was the fried mac and cheese. they were served pipping hot and honestly it's hard to go wrong with mac and cheese anything. the spicy ranch was a complimentary sauce as well. we each built a burger-which i do agree with one of the previous reviews that i have had better cooked burgers from a fast food drive thru-my burger was charred and burned. on my burger was cheddar, grilled onions and mushrooms, and garlic bbq sauce. i couldn't taste the garlic bbq because there was hardly any on the burger. the grilled mushrooms and onions were good toppings but there needed to be more sauce as well as a burger cooked to my liking, which is medium. i ordered a 1/4 burger and received a 1/2 pound burger. my dining partner ordered a 1/2 pound burger and received a 1/4 pound burger so i ate half of mine and let him finish the rest. my dining partner's burger had grilled onions, blue cheese, and the stack'd house sauce.he said the old bay fries were very good. i got tater tots which were hot but flavorless. service was ok nothing notable about it. we both agreed these burgers were priced less than burgatory and therefore we expected less so we were not too disappointed. these would be a real steal from 9-12 on tuesdays when a 1/2 pound burger is only $3. they ahd some other things i would like to try so we will probably be back-just not for the burgers.

the staff was awesome, i really liked the upstairs bar and the drink specials were incredible! discounted yuengling pitchers throughout the evening and two dollar well drinks later in the night. that is honestly about as good as drink specials get, especially for shadyside. one point of interest, they were willing to serve their well drinks as shots for two bucks. i've found that most bars aren't willing to do this for a well drink special. mad props stack'd. it looks better than it was. here is my burger, i named him wimpy because he looked so small compared to the johnny jakes special burger, pictured above, and because he was a particularly sad burger. the nice thing about stack'd is that they allow you to fill out a worksheet when ordering your burger, similar to a sushi restaurant or the pizza worksheet provided by bites n' brews on elwood street. i thought this

i tried this place last night and thought it was pretty good. very solid burger - purposely ordered something basic to check the quality. liked the tater tot side option. wings at other tables smelled good. staff was very nice, and the draft selection was solid.

finally, an affordable burger joint. went there for first time this weekend...good times. $6 (well, $5 + $1 for cheese). tons of great options to put on it too. and finally, finally some affordable drink specials in shadyside. can't beat $6 pitchers of yeungling, a couple burgers, some fries...good stuff. honestly, can't wait to go back, craving another burger already.

another good burger joint. stack’d is one of the latest burger joints to arrive in pittsburgh, using a bit different approach in their burger by using two small patties. they do cook everything medium-well/well done, but it is important to note i haven’t had a dried out burger yet. it won’t win best burger in the city but it’s pretty good. there are plenty of options for toppings, some i definitely would not have thought of and some that are better suited to the chicken patty option rather than the burger (i.e. general tso’s sauce). with so many choices, more so than any other burger joint i’ve visited, you can have plenty of fun designing your own. one definite strength here is the cost. a basic burger starts at $6.00 with no cheese, special toppings or sides which is nice in a world where a $9.00 plain burger has become the norm.

sides cost extra but again, stack’d isn’t charging as much to start like other places. i’ve had the tater tots, curly fries and bay fries. the tots were a bit salty but nice and crispy and the curly fries were much like arby’s, while the bay fries were well seasoned the fries themselves were undercooked that time. i do think they should give you a little bigger side portion for the $2.00 priced items (unless the portions just happened to be small the times i was there). they have a fairly good beer selection and the prices are on par for the area but $6.00 yuengling pitchers is a pretty good deal (although it was odd paying $5.00 for a craft draft and then $6.00 for an entire pitcher but you can’t complain about that price) . all times i have been there the service has been fine though unspectacular.

so will this be the best burger joint you go to? probably not. is it worth going to? most definitely especially given the amount of toppings. the upstairs portion is fairly wide open with plenty of televisions and some bar games (bubble hockey included) that make it a nice hangout to have some drinks, so even if you’re not looking for a bite to eat you can still just go for a few drinks.
