this is probably one of my favourite restaurants for dinner and dessert. the food tastes great. i've eaten entrees as my main meal which i love! unfortunately the staff on register's usually look unhappy or unfriendly.

had a late lunch of chicken breast burger with fries using a voucher. as always, the food was as outstanding as the service - even though we didn't book and changed our minds and menu items. for dessert i had a fabulous mud cake with berries, sauce and icecream. i love the solid chunky dining furniture and the lovely lighting. split is consistently a great place to go.

great food, large variety, prices reasonable, great hospitality, fantastic atmosphere at night. a must visit. great when there's a game on at night, esp the abs.
my only complaint, they're not open sundays damn. mind you what is.

split is a great place to have dinner and/or drinks. the bar is split in two - a restaurant out the front, and then a bar / garden bar area out the back. if you want to dine on a thurs, fri, sat you should book as it can get quite busy and there are a limited number of tables. the menu is varied and delicious, and the lunch menu is really great value for money. the staff are always very attentive.

we own a b&b in whangarei and after receiving a glowing report on split we tried for ourselves. very impressed, friendly service, great food. since then some of our other guests have eaten at split and were also very impresed.
