i used to like this place. excellent beer selection, adequate wine and acceptable food. wait staff with 1 or 2 highlights is cold and in attentive. same with bar staff. hal and heather are the only ones who attempt to relate and have good service and people skills. better hiring and training needed imo.

ate dinner on the deck this evening. good was amazing and service was really really good. my only complaint was that other patrons were smoking below us and the smell continually drifted up. however, this did not detract from our overall experience and we will deifibtely go back.

valentine's dinner. on valentine's day we were in a party of 5. each meal we received was over priced and the food was not hot. we told the server who offered to heat up the food and we declined. when i pay $38. for a steak it should be hot when it is put on the table. i'm sorry to say that we probably will not return. eventhough making a complaint about the temperature of the food you would think a courtesy of making a reduction on our bill or offer a free dessert.

first time here was in july....very bad experience with waitress (inattentive), inside temp (no a/c!) and long wait for food service with only two other tables seated (why?).

gave a second try this month, much better! waitress was pleasant and attentive, food was served in an acceptable amount of time and inside temp was appropriate for the month.

each visit found one constant, excellent food!!!!

no service. walked in to a half empty establishment (looking for a seating for two) with no one else in line at 6:00 pm on a saturday night and told no table available til 8:00 pm.

really???

spinnerstown. this is right up the road from us. unfortunately, thought we used to go quite frequently (it's hard to find a place open on mondays), i hardly ever go now. service has fallen off, the bar area menu is consistently half decent, and the last few times i did pay for an entree (used to be very good fine dining), it has been entirely underwhelming (think, heavy on sauce, oily, wilted and overcooked veggies. other than the beer selection (outstanding) i cannot bring myself to go when i am actually hungry, not just drinking. the owners would do well to pay attention to the quality coming out of the kitchen.

good food, world-class beer selection. the food is good here and the service always steady. there are some different dishes, but overall the food is good but not great - and that's ok. the beer selection is world-class, with offerings from all over the world and from all the regional microbreweries. the owners, bartenders, and senior staff are friendly, knowledgeable, funny, and nice. a great place to feel welcome, and always worth a visit.

great crab cake sandwich.. ate lunch here for the first time about a week ago while traveling. bartender said they had just updated the menu and this was the first day with new items. i had the crab cake sandwich with avacado salad (guacamole) and fried onion threads. it was excellent. the crab cake was good, avacado salad on the roll was good, the onion threads were crisp and delicate, not greasy and even the roll was perfect for the sandwich. came with home made potato chips which were also excellent. obviously was only there for one visit, but will return for dinner and to try out the extensive beer menu.

generally pretty good.. this is a good restaurant. not to say great, but i do like coming here. the food is pretty good, but can be pricey. i have never had a better meal. recently had the tuna melt for lunch, and it was really well done. they take requests to change it up a bit, which is nice. the wine list is very good, and the beer selection as well. service has always been prompt and attentive. i'd recommend it.

it’s rather unassuming from the road but enter and be amazed. the spinnerstown hotel is a white-table-cloth kind of place but you’d never know it sitting at the bar.
