southern recipes grill

used to be top notch home cooking but they are getting sloppy - the place just isn't as clean as it used to be and they need to change up the menu a little and stop serving bagged salad with unripe tomatoes and similar. the bathrooms are filthy - warning - take your own toilet paper and towels - nasty in there - i've been to road stop pottys that were cleaner!!

easy access from rangers and cowboys stadiums. the wait time was a little much but they were busy on a sunday am but the food was well worth it. ordered steak and eggs, others omelet and french toast. very tasty. enjoyed meal.

i thought the food here was good, i had the southern omelet, hash browns, toast, bacon and pancakes. everything tasted great. my boyfriend had the eggs benedict and grits, he was disappointed in his food.

best home cooked ever... i had the chicken fried chicken and it was great... i love them rolls...

concerns/complements? go to solly.... sure this place is not white table clothed, landscape not pristine as a country club, and guess what, you'll never guess, there's not a person in the bathroom to hand you a towel, spritz you with fragrance, and offer you a breath mint. but what srgs does offer is family friendly, cost effeciant, large portions, 90% in house made (compared to corporate chained restaurants, are you friggin kidding me, all there gear is brought and aged on a truck), servers that guess what: are human, holy shnikies, they're real, they have moments of weakness when triple sat with a large-top, and they are family, the servers here have worked here for years even with their families extending, and just plain simply srgs gives back to the community through out reaching to mission arlington on holidays providing free food for hundreds and hundreds of underprivelidged families in dfw...
i'll conclude with this, if you've been waiting to be seated, if service is slow or stopped, if you think the lighting or a/c sucks, just ask for solly!!! he will immediately fix the situation and make, seriously, create a wonderful dining experience for you and your guest; and, i just know this will happen, will remember your name next time you come in whether it's the next day or two months later.

had a great breakfast here today. good food and very fast and friendly service. jennifer (our waitress) seemed to be handling every table in the place on her own but had time to check on us frequently and even chat a bit and make us feel very welcome. i would definitely come back!

terrific breakfast!. we have been going to southern recipes grill (srg) for 5 years. the last 3 years we have been there every sunday. my favorites are the country omelet, quesadillas, pecan apple french toast or the special on the board. my husband has the bacon cheese omelet or quesadillas. the coffee and ice tea is the best ever. we have never had bad service there nor have we had to wait on our food. i have heard that the evenings are very busy.
if i was going to have dinner there i would go earlier if possible.
their prices are great, portions of food is generous and the cooks are
wonderful in preparing the food. :)

half an hour sitting waiting on food. had to beg to get a refill on coffee. will not come back

the eggs florentine was delicious! it came over a buttered and toasted english muffin with crispy bacon and fresh sautéed spinach. the eggs were cooked perfect! the bernadine sauce tasted home made too.

i never even got to eat there. my father and i waited to be seated for so long we had to leave.

the best omlet i've ever had!!! i had the southern omlet and it was flawless. service was excellent and the atmosphere was comfortable. will definitely go back again!!

another great lunch at srg yesterday. they have really inexpensive lunch specials everyday. the price is great for the quality and quantity of food you get. my husband and i had 2 lunch entrees, 1 appetizer, and 2 drinks for around $21. lunch entrees come with soup or salad and are very filling. service is always friendly.

wonderful place to eat. southern recipe grill is a home style restaurant and is a great place to go for outstanding food at a reasonable price. it has a great atmosphere, the staff is friendly and courteous, and i can't think of a better place to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner. they can accommodate parties from small to large and when my son was getting married several weeks ago, we held the rehearsal dinner at southern recipe grill (48 people) and it went off without a hitch. all the guests were very impressed with the food, service and accommodations, and all the locals said that they were coming back for themselves. try it for yourselves and when you get there, ask for sully and tell him that ben recommended him and his restaurant as the place to eat.

getting past appearances. the parking lot and overall décor are somewhat detracting but the menu items were quite varied and our meals turned out surprisingly good. salads were very fresh and the vegetable sides did not suffer from the overcooking that is sometimes encountered in "southern cooking". both cornbread and hot rolls were also very good. during our visit a small wait staff efficiently handled a fairly large, diverse lunch crowd. they don't offer weekday breakfasts (a personal favorite) so i would consider them a solid lunch spot but i'm not sure how the happy hour / dinner arrangement works out.

i went there with my parents and it was truly a laid back atmosphere. the help was friendly and prompt and the food was so good. i got an entree and it came with soup or salad, 2 vegetable sides, and a choice of a roll or cornbread. lots of good food for an honest price. i'm definitely going to go back and take my husband. my only advice would be don't forget your leftovers!
