so, i've been driving by this area for years ever and just recently stopped by with some close friends. it's a little hard to find since the signage on the glass front is hard to spot but found it nonetheless.
when you walk in, the place is bright, clean, fresh and modern. the smell of the fresh saj pita made just off to the side of the cash - you basically can review a menu at a table and walk up to the cash put your order in and take a number to go back to your table.
things ordered:
chef’s sampler
babaganouj, labni, muhamara, beet mutable, quinoa tabule, arabic slaw
** pretty tasty and enough to share with 4 adults, personally enjoyed the beet mutable, labni and muhamara - very flavourful.
jedos kefta meatballs
ground lamb and beef in a garlic tomato sauce, served over dirty rice(ground beef, rice) and topped with arabic slaw
** really enjoyed this for the fact i love lamb which was cooked just right and the sauce was a really nice addition. i don't recall ever having dirty rice before but seemed to be seasoned just right and complimenting the lamb. i basically mixed everything together and it with some of the pita (ordered extras).
they didn't have the kefta burger which was my first choice but didn't mind the rice dish at all, would definitely try it again.
samke sammie
lightly-battered cod served open face on our saj pita, topped with arabic slaw, tomato concasse, pickled turnip and spicy tahini
** the wife ordered the samke sammie which is the picture i've added. she really enjoyed the cod which was lightly battered and fluffy. very nice to look at but thinks she will order the sandwich version next time. the tahini has a nice bite and the peppers also added a little bit of heat which she loves.
friend has been a few times and enjoyed the samke sandwich
