a highly suggested place for a private get together. my parents 60th wedding anniversary couldn't have gone any better.

so, i've been driving by this area for years ever and just recently stopped by with some close friends. it's a little hard to find since the signage on the glass front is hard to spot but found it nonetheless.

when you walk in, the place is bright, clean, fresh and modern. the smell of the fresh saj pita made just off to the side of the cash - you basically can review a menu at a table and walk up to the cash put your order in and take a number to go back to your table.

things ordered:

chef’s sampler
babaganouj, labni, muhamara, beet mutable, quinoa tabule, arabic slaw

** pretty tasty and enough to share with 4 adults, personally enjoyed the beet mutable, labni and muhamara - very flavourful.

jedos kefta meatballs
ground lamb and beef in a garlic tomato sauce, served over dirty rice(ground beef, rice) and topped with arabic slaw

** really enjoyed this for the fact i love lamb which was cooked just right and the sauce was a really nice addition. i don't recall ever having dirty rice before but seemed to be seasoned just right and complimenting the lamb. i basically mixed everything together and it with some of the pita (ordered extras).

they didn't have the kefta burger which was my first choice but didn't mind the rice dish at all, would definitely try it again.

samke sammie
lightly-battered cod served open face on our saj pita, topped with arabic slaw, tomato concasse, pickled turnip and spicy tahini

** the wife ordered the samke sammie which is the picture i've added. she really enjoyed the cod which was lightly battered and fluffy. very nice to look at but thinks she will order the sandwich version next time. the tahini has a nice bite and the peppers also added a little bit of heat which she loves.

friend has been a few times and enjoyed the samke sandwich

menu excellent representation of middle eastern food. we had some salads and hummus and some different pita breads. everything was delicious. very reasonable.

amazing experience. ingredients so fresh and food amazingly tasty. we tried the chefs platter with dips and compared to fadi’s houston, the quantity is bit less but quality better. (can’t compare it with any toronto place because it has none of that standard). open face beef sandwich is awesomely flavourful and filling. don’t know about other stuff but folks tell me that shish tawook is not that filling and rice just ok. but all in all awesome.

when we arrived at souk tabule, we weren't sure what to order, so we went with the chef's platter, jedos kefta meatballs, batata harra, and a saj akaawi. it was too much food for the three of us in our group! i was surprised by the generous portions compared to other lebanese restaurants. while a few of the dishes were prepared a little differently than i am used to, the food was delicious and i'll be back.

amazing arabic food - up there with the best of the best served in the middle east! batata harra, hummus with shawarma, dirty rice, jedo’s meatballs, pulled chicken, falafels on rice, labneh, baba ghanoush and more were all incredible. some said the portions are small for the price, but i disagree. the portions are just right and well-worth the money spent. will definitely return and highly recommend!

came here on a food tour stop and the food was delicious. everything was fresh and seasoned very well. it was hard not to eat more than i could because i wasn't sure when i would have a chance to come back. service was okay but the food made all the little things that could use some work worth it.

had a great sunday lunch experience at souk tabule. came with the family and it had a great relaxing, casual setting. you seat yourself and order at the counter. they provide you with a number and the food is brought to your table. we tried many delicious dishes - beet salad ($6), babaganuj (came with 1 pita $6, ordered additional pita for $1), falafel (baked or fried, 5 for $6), open face beef shwarma ($10) and phoenician fries ($5.50). the food was served pretty quickly and the staff was very friendly. they offer many more food selection and lots of tea/coffee and desserts. i will have to return to try everything else. we arrived around 11:45am but it was a packed house by noon.

when i first heard that restauranteurs chef rony goraichy and diana sideris were opening up a another tabule in the canary district, a stone’s throw away from their queen east location, i figured they were packing it up on queen and moving. turns out, the concept for their third venture, souk tabule, is pretty different from their other full-service restaurants.

this is a truly amazing place. the decor is tasteful and beautiful - so many wonderful little touches down to the water jugs. the flavours are wholesome and just bursting with life. we ordered a souk plate which came with crispy perfect falafel, impossibly creamy labne, a punchy foul (chickpea stew), cabbage slaw and salad. i would recommend this to anyone! the shakshuka was also well done though the eggs were a little over cooked. there is a great selection of drinks including some exotic teas and lebanese coffee. i love how the hipster invasion of toronto has brought us such great places to relax, enjoy some great food and catch up with friends!
