food was bland. nothing exciting about this place at all.

good tacos -. good food. service needs a little help. margaritas are a little pricey for a mix from costco. coconut shrimp was really good. will be back.

my wife and i decided to check out downtown gilbert for lunch after our morning hike today.  we happened upon the so cal fish taco company.  i am extremely happy that we did.  the restaurant has a great area in the back for outdoor seating.  we both decided on fish tacos...obvi.  i had the loco (shellfish) and shark, while my wife had mahi and shark.  all of them were stellar.  the accompanying salsa was cool and refreshing while the beans and rice were perfect and tender.  i really appreciate the craft beer menu.  there are many options that sound like a good pairing with fish.  i decided on the blood orange amber from the dude brewing.  it was fantastic.  my only negative is that everything was served in and on plastic.... the plates, flatware, glasses, everything.  the extremely high quality of food and beer deserve to be served properly.  however, i look forward to my next visit to this restaurant.

we really like the tacos especially during happy hour (prior to 6pm) they are a $1.50 a piece and well worth it. the clam chowder is excellent - hearty and robust with clams. suggest you visit during the week; the weekends are chaos and this small venue simply can't accommodate large parties without a ridiculous wait. furthermore,the small wait staff area can be quite congested and the boss is may become quite unpleasant - first hand experience. cooler heads prevail during the week and the service is usually very good.

excellent food but terrible service. there were only two waiters but around 6/7 parties and no one was seated inside although it was the middle of summer

t&g shark n oysters. so it felt good to see how sharks like us eating them for once! seriously good fresh selection prompt and friendly service. oyster po boy... was delicious.

good snack taco. lunch time, beautiful saturday! patio was packed. got a table inside, right away.
first time here, started with coconut shrimp app. shrimp were really good, citrus sauce with it was excellent! i would say overpriced at 9$ though.
wife had cod tacos, which came with rice & beans. would have been better without. beans tasted straight out of can, rice...i don't know! tacos were really good though.
i had fish & chips. fish good, though a bit greasy. chips were ok.
overall, a pretty tasty light meal. we'll be back to try happy hour on the patio.
i think this place is a great addition to old downtown gilbert!

funky and good. so cal fish taco company is funky and good. i was looking for some seafood and found it. i had a beer and cod tacos. the tacos were good, not heaping, but they tasted good and were only $6. on a nice evening i would have sat outside, which was where most people were. lots of other choices on the restaurant, so i can come back and try something else and probably drag other people with me.

fresh seafood!. went here tonight and enjoyed some blue point oysters from virginia! how so you ask? well, the place is owned by the folks who own the seafood market at dana point on baseline & val vista in gilbert/mesa. and i'm sure they're using the same suppliers. also had the grouper tacos and it all was fresh & delicious. the bride had shrimp & chips and it was good too.
a nice, comfortable spot with a patio with misters in the historic district, just down the street from joe's real bbq & postino, the farmers market etc.
old downtown gilbert is coming to life with all these places along with oregano's, euro café and others. so cal fish taco company is worth a try.

the only thing that would make this place better is made in-house fresh tortillas. the sevice excellent, the food quality excellent. fresh fish in arizona excellent! the price excellent, atmosphere excellent, patio with misters excellent, nice clean restaurant excellent! keep up the good work! cheers!

so cal in the desert. i visit southern california a lot and love eating at most of the surf restaurants along the coast. it's nice to see a little so cal here in the desert. i really enjoyed the overall look and theme of the restaurant along with the outdoor patio. the shrimp tacos were good - probably a bit overpriced for me considering how small they are. i did enjoy the crab cakes - really tender and fresh. happy hour with good prices would draw me back more often.

i like so cal fish tacos ok, not great, just ok. i thought the blackened grouper tacos were lacking in blackened taste and pale looking almost like the seasoning was missing. the cod tacos were good and the other member of our party liked the fish and chips and stated the coating was really good. i liked the tacos enough to go back to if in the area, but maybe not a long drive for. our server was really good and our food did arrive quickly even though this place was very busy at the time.

was busy and a bit of a wait. had the carnitas tacos and they were quite good, if not great. fresh ingredients and good portions for the price. had a decent selection of craft brews as well. b to b+. would come back.

great food. i love fish tacos so we thought we would give this new place a try. i had the salmon tacos and my husband had the pork. they were both delicious....i can't wait to try the rest of them! i would offer a suggestion.....a combination plate would be great.......i would like to try more than one kind at a time.

beans and rice were good but small portions........nice patio and good service. will definitely return.
