poor service. note:
johnny, the owner did email me to apologize and offer a gift card because of my bad experience. this does help some with the poor customer service part.
i stop from time to time, when on that side of town (rogers, poplar) to get a bite.
yesterday evening, just before 5:00 (receipt read 4:55 for when i paid), i stopped by for what i thought would be a quick stop to grab a “to go” dinner for the family.
you were very busy and i accepted the fact that there would likely be a bit of a delay.
granted, my order could have been confusing since i ordered: 2, 3 meat plates, one with 2 sliced briskets and a turkey, one with 2 pulled pork’s and a turkey.
what happened is a great story of how to lose a customer due to poor customer service.
long story short:
1) 43 minutes later, i got my food, i watched several (5-6?) people who came in after me for ‘to go” orders get their food before me.
2) i watched and heard the staff, look at and count my order several times, trying to get it right. they even called over the lady who appeared to be in charge to help.
3) at no time during the 43 minutes i waited on my order did anyone check in with me to explain or apologize for the delay or offer a drink or anything.
4) when i finally got my order, the young lady who was taking care of my order apologized profusely for the delay, the slightly older lady “in charge” never acknowledge the delay or offered a drink or a discount on a future meal or anything to try to do some customer service for the extended delay.
5) since at least 3 people checked my order a number of times (confused because of the double meats?), and because i was highly irritated and just wanted to leave, i did not double check the order before i left.
6) after getting home i discovered that not only was the order wrong (ordered a total of 2 each, brisket, turkey, pulled pork, received 1 brisket, 2 turkey, and 3 pulled pork) they shorted me the extra 6 rolls i had requested and paid for...
7) to say i was mad would be an understatement, knowing my state of mind at the moment i refrained from calling because i did not want to blow up at the poor individual who answered the phone.
this is the perfect example of poor customer service and how to lose a customer and get poor reviews,,,
