staff here is most of the time polite but not one of the staff when i came yesterday for breakfast. this rating is for one of the staff (blond short haired female) who was rude. after 30 minutes of waiting, food did not come yet so i asked how much more time and she said about 5 to 10 minutes. after 10 minutes, i asked again and she rudely said, "you see those tickets in line? if you cannot wait, you can ask for a refund and go somewhere else". i'm dumbfounded, what's wrong with asking where your food is? she should have just said, "we apologize for the inconvenience but with the busyness,..." she does not have good customer service, she should not work in this resto that has usually good customer service. train your new hires on dealing with people coz i also see similar comments here about some rude workers. too bad because the food is great, don't let your rude employees ruin your reputation.

great for breakfast.... winter omelette was excellent. very creative blend of ingredients, friendly and fast. good coffee and a relaxed atmoshere.

it is not everyday that i make it out to downtown riverside for lunch. in fact to be more precise, i have never been to riverside for lunch. i had to give a deposition for a work situation, so i did a little research about restaurants in the area where i was going to be. i had about three places picked out, and based on time and location i picked simple simon's. simple simon's is located right in the heart of downtown, right near the mission inn. lots of shopping and dining options around this area. i got to the restaurant at a little after noon, and there were about six people in front of me. simple simon's was full of business professionals on their lunch hours. i was a little worried about finding a table, but there were plenty of seats inside, and they also have a patio out their back door. ordering is done at a counter. the line moved quicker than i had anticipated. besides ordering your sandwich, you can also o

no frills breakfast joint that also servers lunch; greats crowded on saturday but nice for post mt. rubidoux hike. bring your patience and a friend or you won't find a table to eat your meal.

a great breakfast place with best service you can probably get. the sandwiches are great and one can have different choices in lunch as well.

with its amazing bread, ingredients, and creativity, these will be some of the best sammys in the i.e. that you can find. simons is a staple.

a great spot for breakfast or lunch. the service is quick and to the point, can't say they take a lot of pride in being the nicest people, but the food is great. i do not go as often anymore as downtown riverside is really losing it's edge, but simple simons would be the best lunch/bfast spot in the area if you find yourself there.

great food, this location showcases the best part of riverside. a great place to grab a bite on saturday mornings outside surrounded by great music and people. a must before saturday farmers markets.

mrs.a. i am a frequent downtown visitor and i too agree that the man at the register is very rude!! had lunch today and needed a lid for my drink, you would of thought i asked him to cut off his left arm! this is always his attitude. i do love the food and it's a great place to get lunch, but i think i am going to pass on simple simons from now on. he needs to check his bad attitude. if he is the owner this is not good for business. maybe read some of these comments??

this is not a very welcoming place if you're a new customer and don't know the program yet. the man running to register is very abrasive and rude. he appears to be the owner and, although the food is good, i don't think ill spend any more of my money here.

i love this place, but this morning i dealt with a grumpy older man who said it would take 1 hour to make 8 sandwiches and was very rude about it! thanks for killing the positivity i have always had going there. i wish i would have gotten his name . i will give him one...a$$hole.

this place is a riverside icon and conveniently located downtown next to the mission inn.  had a bagel with cream cheese that was exceptional, perfectly toasted and freshly baked.  stop in and try them if you're in town.

this is the best deli in riverside. wonderful fresh, delicious items. i crave simple simons at least once a week! simply the best! be prepared to wait due to the large lunch crowds!

simple simon's - simply the best!. this is 'the' place in riverside for deli style breakfast or lunch. everything is homemade . . . breads, soups, chili, sandwiches, salads, desserts . . . all of the freshest ingredients. special diet requirements - no problem. servers are hip young college age edgy . . . the food is to die for - try the 'nut-bomb cookies' or the 'christmas cookies' try anything - everything . . . it is simply the best!!!
