simonetti's pizza

good, but.... it seems like almost any local independent pizza place gets 5 bonus points just for not being pizza hut or dominos. simonetti's is no different.

the missus and i recently stopped by to try the place. i got two "special slices", while she got a "sicilian slice". she really enjoyed her slice, which was thick and delicious.

my slices - which were the "meat special" tasted great. but they were so puny (see picture). i've seen simonetti's advertised as "ny style pizza", but i've been to nyc enough to know that two slices of pizza should be almost half of a large pizza hut pizza. so although the pizza tasted good, the meager slices were an incredible disappointment.

i probably won't go back, unless they start offering major "2 for 1" specials. with my gf a vegetarian and me a hardcore carnivore, the slices are too small to make a meal, and the whole pies too expensive to get two.

went to simonettis today 09/08/15 at about 645 pm after our sons soccer practice. waited and waited and waited for someone to take our drink order---two tables that came in after us were served their drinks and had their orders taken, but not us. we have been here several times and have not had bad service. we left and will probably not return. bad customer service

wow! just like my sicilian grandma used to make. perfect sauce fresh toppings. only reason it's not a 5 is that it's a hole in the wall.

we have visited a couple of times. very nice decor and friendly service. sampled a few things from their menu and although the dishes were agreeable, we're just not convinced yet. there is something there i am sure. just have to find it so we will return again. one criticism is they don't include a spoon with the pasta dishes.

overall it's not bad. the pizza was good, not great. the service was excellent. our pizza took longer and so they gave us a discount and free bread. for $20 bucks it was a good dinner.

great pizza, terrible wings. we usually get pizza from simonetti's and wings from jax but since jax ran out i went with plan b. my boyfriend told me the wings were bad, but i insisted on trying again. big mistake. "slow-roasted" should have been a dead giveaway that the meat would be in pieces, barely sticking to the bone, and without any surface for the sauce to adhere to. yuck. i ate one, the trash got the rest ...and i never waste food.

i travel a lot and am finally settling down in belmont area. i love italian and was told this was the best place to go. man, was i disappointed! i ordered lasagna and it was aweful. i don't know if they made a mistake and gave me manicotti but what i got was a lasagna sheets with tons of low quality tasting ricotta! no meat, just noodles and cheese. last i checked that's how manicotti is made. i've had better and hopefully will find better in this area. went back only to try pizza hoping that was better and was even more disappointed in what they claim is the best ny style pizza in the area. wouldn't recommend and will not be a frequent customer there.

great pizza

excellent n.y. pizza. as a new yorker (long island) i am thrilled to finally have a pizza place to call home and fortunately for me it's only a few miles away!

the cheese pizza was good but the other pizza i ordered, with pepperoni and sausage, was too greasy; the crust; in the middle third of the pie; was completely soaked.

best pizza in belmont! no contest.
