sima japanese & korean restaurant

horrible.. worst experience i have ever had in a restaurant. i made a reservation for 20 people 2 weeks prior to the night. upon arriving the server yelled at me saying i made it for the date before. after being seated we waited 45 minutes and no one came to get our drink order. a girl in our party that used to work at sima ended up getting our drink and food orders while she is wearing heels and a party dress! when the food comes out it was ok, but the same server who yelled at us upon arriving kept yelling at the girl in our party that used to work there. at one point she made her cry. it was a horrible awful experience and i will never return. it was embaressing for everyone involved. no apology from the owner or anyone. it's not ok to make customers cry...

like eating in a walmart!. we wanted to have some sushi today, so we stopped at sima. never ate here before, tried the lunch buffet. no prices listed. the sushi was picked over, they did not refill the whole time we were there. bland. then a very loud disrespectful woman brought her 2 babies in a highchair and began to talk very loudly and rudely to her boyfriend, they picked over the sushi and when the 2 toddlers cried for food to eat, she began to beat them to be quiet and eat the sushi. i have never in my life seen anything like it before, i wanted to call the police! then another couple sat right behind us, the man walked over to the sushi bar picked up what was left of some sushi with the tongs and sniffed it, and then put it back! i got up and left! went to the owners to complain that an unfilled buffet should not cost 14.99 a person and was never refilled and i told them what the people around me did. the owner said i should have yelled at the other customers! i do not work here !! i also complained about nothing being refilled and she said i should have told them what needed to be refilled. i told her we would never be back. eat at your own risk. i feel as if i needed a side of penicillin for dessert.

i took my mom for dinner on 2/27/14, everything was fine untill i asked for the check, i saw "hot water" $1.50. the owner is very rude charge for hot water. i used work at the food service for 7 yrs, i had never heard a resturant charge for "hot water " in my life. immediately, i called my waitress to my table, and i called the owener, she said " sorry we have to charge for "hot water, we have to boil it "when you are not notice to the costumer, you are not suppose to charge the costumer. i checked the menu, it does not label the price on the menu plus she argues it is korean way "we boil hot water, and she insists to charge me for " hot water" after the argument. she didn't appologize to her mistakes at all , she said," i had a good day so far, so i'll let it go" very selfish and greedy owner...finally, she took the charge off..really bad attitude...
sorry, when you are not apologize, i pay for the service. whe you are rude to the costumers, your business will decline. your reputation has been really bad.
i refuse to go there anymore, i urge others don't go there for a bad serive and overprice entry.

customer : no i am waiting for the teriyaki beef or whatever that is...
waitress: oh.... that makes a sense ....

then 5 minutes later, the executive chef came out and checked , then 2 minutes later, sushi chef hold a tray of fresh beef or whatever that is from the kitchen
"when you advitise " endless bbq" you need to refill the empty items for the costumer,never wait untill costumer ask for it."

this is thee best place to go for authentic sushi. the service is amazing, the food is amazing, the atmosphere is amazing. you can not go wrong with this place. you must try the playboy roll, the sima special roll, and the firecracker roll!!!

authentic korean. the food was very good and the portion was appropriate. we had korean. they had only 5 korean sides and didn't offer to refill any of them. they have ob beer in combat bottles. doesn't get much more authentic than that.
i saw a sign for "monkey brains" behind the sushi bar and had to try it. crab stuffed mushrooms with cream cheese...lightly fried. excellent appetizer.
will go back.

best japanese and korean restaurant in town!. i have been going to sima for a while, and i can't say any negative thing about this place. during the lunch time they have the lunch buffet with excellent sushi rolls that you can't find in any other buffet place around here. quality is different. they also have the varieties of salad and some hot food displayed and it's different everyday! i usually go there between my short lunch break. i love it because i don't have to wait for the food to come out but i can still enjoy good food. i heard that they just started the endless bbq for dinner time and some of my friends went there and they said that i have to go with them next time. food is great and service is excellent. its the best japanese and korean restaurant in dayton!

the place to be: phenomenal food, extraordinary service, pleasant & inviting environment. i have been searching for some amazing korean food and sushi in the dayton area and when my friend introduced me to sima last year i could not have been happier. i have tried every single roll and can't seem to find one i don't enjoy. the playboy, firecraker, sima special, mexian, monkey brain (stuffed mushrooms), jalepeno bomb ect. are just few of the most mouth watering sushi you could eat in town. their sushi is the freshest i've had since i left the west coast. sima's kalbee (short ribs) is the best! even better than the one i grew up eating in l.a. they recently started the "all you can eat" korean b.b.q. for $25 and my friends and i made it a weekly thing. it is definitely worth your ca$h. the quality and the amount of food you get at this place is price to fit. i love it there! the sima staff are so friendly, they are so helpful. if you are searching for a good place like i was, i would definitely stop at sima! it is the place to be.

great sushi and salad bar.

not worth it.. a few years ago, when i found out that a restaurant was opening nearby that served korean food, i was very excited. i have been disappointed every time i've gone there. the service is terrible. i was told that i couldn't get kimchi as a side dish because i ordered kimchi jigae. i was also told that i couldn't get more rice because i already had some and my stew had rice cakes in it. once we waiting an hour to get our food. i kept going back hoping it would change but it never does. if you don't mind terrible service and overpriced food, their kimchi jigae is good, but i'd rather go our to fairborn to get some quality korean cuisine and service.

sushi selection on the lunch buffet was fantastic. service even accommodated a tough food intolerance in our party which was a pleasant change. definitely recommend.

the jalapeno bomb is the bomb! the service is very friendly. enjoyed everything i have tried.
