edible. burger was edible but way over priced. go to sawyers if you want a good burger. evryone was friendly but the bar keep smelled of b.o.

atmosphere > food. this place has a great feel and the atmosphere indoors or out is both unique and inviting. i thought the appetizers were excellent, and the food menu was interesting, especially since many of the offerings feature locally produced ingredients. however, the salad and chicken sandwich i had were very run-of-the-mill and the in house seasoned chips were bland. while i really wanted to love this place, i could only just like it, and will be back for an appetizer and drinks only, but probably not for an actual meal

people are great!. i love this place. the staff and customers are friendly and courteous. the atmosphere and decor is laid back and terriffic. i am just not sold on their food. it is average and not that tasty. which would be fine, except that for the prices, you would want the food to make an impression. but, what the hell? the people and atmosphere will keep me coming back for a drink or two. who knows? you might love the food as much as i love the place!

my favorite place in town for a veggie burger, hands down. i try to make it here whenever i'm in town. a really cool venue especially when i was in college

the food here never disappoints. such a relaxed atmosphere and the servers are always friendly. i love the occasional blood mary and here they are always good, and if you have specifications such as "light on the heat," the bartenders always remember for the second round. the burgers here are exceptional. no better value for a wuality burger in town! the only negative is parking. we have gone downtown to eat here but have had to go elsewhere due to the tragic parking limitations that plague downtown lexington most every weekend and evening.

brittany directed us to sidebar grill - partially because it's the only place she told us she would permit us to eat a burger and partially because her cousin owns it. but it also came highly recommended from a bartender at what ended up being my favorite brewery in kentucky.i ordered the burger with all the fixins, including cheddar cheese. i also got the side of sweet potato fries. the burger was juicy and flavorful. toppings were fresh. sweet potato fries weren't so much fries, but rather just roasted potatoes - regardless, excellent. with a tasty sweet honey butter dipping sauce.

one of the worst restaurant experiences i have ever had. nothing too out of the ordinary happened to ruin my and my girlfriends' experience, but i have never had a meal strike out entirely like this one did.

first, we ordered the sweet potato fries. they weren't fries. if the menu had called them "sweet potato wedges" like they are then we simply wouldn't have ordered them. they weren't awful, but weren't good, and weren't what we wanted.

next i got the burger with a side salad. the salad would have been very good, except their "honey mustard" dressing was just mustard and it absolutely ruined the salad. imagine lettuce, tomato, and cucumber covered in yellow mustard. not good.

lastly, the burger tasted very good. i ordered it medium well, but the middle of the burger was stark pink. i was only able to eat around the outside. so, despite the fact that it tasted good, it was still a complete failure.

i wish i could say that this was just a bad experience and not a good representation, but there was no isolated incident which ruined the whole experience and which could be labeled a mistake. like i said, the meal struck out in every aspect. nothing about it was even okay. i will be stunned if i ever eat at sidebar again.

i've never been disappointed. after closing sidebar for lunch or dinner. they have a solid menu, and the specials are consistently awesome. not a whole lot of frills, just good food. love the pbr chili and black bean burger.

a dive, yes. delicious, also yes.. nice service often from the hands-on owner. great food. small but solid beer selection. this place isn't fancy, just pleasing.

hidden treasure of lexington!. this is one of my favorite burger joints in lexington. love the decor. love its burgers and fries. i wish the place was a bit larger. if you have not yet tried this place, you definitely should!!!

sweet potato fries!. if you have not been to sidebar and tried the sweet potato fries you are really missing out. comes with a side of honey butter to dip the fries in. yum. one of the top 3 burgers i've tried in lex, ky. my new hangout. great seating outside for the downtown peeps. love this place!

nice place. nice little bar with good food. hand cut fries are great. nice view of downtown if you get the opportunity to sit outside in front of the bar.

burger was like going to uncle bob's cookout.... i don't really have an uncle bob but i'm sure if i did his burgers wouldn't be that great. this is like going to your neighbor's for a quick cookout-type burger. 1/4 lb burger is small, dry and appears to be on a cheap grocery store bun.

chili had the taste of beer but that was the only taste.

server argued with 2 diners who wanted her to split a check.

ticket time was slow and the tickets are hand written and either i was supposed to pay $1.50 for a piece of cheese or i really was over charged.

love the vibe, spotty on the food. after reading such great reviews on the burgers here, i went to check out what all the hype was about.
sorely disappointed with my dry burger. heard from a friend she had been months before and had a sensational burger.
needs some consistency if i am ever to return! haven't completely written this place off, as the home made chips and fries were pretty good.

love this joint. i loved the fish & chips the issue was the tartar sauce. this tartar had a hint of cajun or cayenne. the dish should be served with malt vinegar. the slaw was very tasty. black bean burger is a winner. simple clean taste. sweet potato fries are very good. i don't think it needs the honey butter. sweet on sweet is to much sweet. the fries are good enough to stand on their own.
