restaurant impossible?. i really want this restaurant to succeed, and based on some pictures in the waiting area someone is connected to both the police in mckinney as well as nyc, so wonderful for their commitment to serve which far outweighs a simple eating experience! unfortunately, the food could have been better last night (which i realize is a 1st-world-problem), and is worth noting. the calamari as our appetizer looked closer to cauliflower and had no evidence of being fried. the bread was the highlight and the four massive pieces they brought dwarfed the plate it was served. almost burned my hand reaching under the bread to find the tiny packets of butter stuffed under the bread and already melted. each of our four entrees was either tasteless (basil should be cut and crisp and not wilty) or had way too much sauce and drowned the overcooked pasta. restaurant for the most part had an impressive crowd and hope our opinions may simply help the future as we will return since we moved to the area. learned it is byob. restaurant impossible could make this a dynamite attraction to freshen up the waiting area, the inside and maybe help with basics on the menu.

we eat here at least once every two weeks during lunch. the food is really good. i really enjoy the dan's salad with grilled chicken. i think they give you a large amount of chicken in the salad, compared to other places. the meat sauce on the spaghetti has a nice amount of meat as well. the rolls are really yummy (i would pick these rolls over bread sticks at olive garden every time! ). quite often it gets crowded during lunch, so go early if you can. the daily specials are priced well. i have never had a bad meal here. if you like luigi's in rockwall you will like sicily's just as much. 5 on food, 4.5 on atmosphere because it gets crowded sometimes.

best italian food in dfw. i thought their red sauce was the best thing i'd ever had, until i tried the pink sauce. the entrées are easily two meals as well.

for our second stop in the north dallas area, we hit sicily’s on the way back home. it was great! we were headed back home and picked sicily’s as it was on the way home. we started off with some bread we ordered, along with both marinara and al fredo to dip it in. and salads. all great. raegan got chicken parm, and i got fettuccine al fredo. both oh, so, very good. we even liked the smells of the food being served around us. this place was good!

i absolutely love sicily's. i have always liked the idea of italian food and have frequented more venues than i can remember, but have never ever left a place with any more than a ho hum experience. and then there was sicily's. i drove by the location for 2 years before stopping because it looks a bit sketchy, but always packed. the food is over the top fan-damn-tastic. pizza=very good, pasta dishes aww my god, and my holy grail hunt for great meatballs stops here. and i said and it's all cheap. the only thing to watch for are the rolls. when they are fresh they are sooo good but if they didn't just come out of the oven don't bother.

om, nom, and the kids were in the mood for some pizza, and we had not been to sicily’s for some time, so it was a sunday night at sicily’s!

om: the place was pretty empty, but i guess that is kind of expected on a sunday night. the waitress was either confused, new, or was more concerned with talking to her co-workers. she forgot our menu’s, then forgot our silverware, and didn’t bring out plates for our appetizer…usually their service is good but this was disappointing. we ordered some fried ravioli for the appetizer, and they were good, but i don’t think that the olive garden should serve a far superior appetizer to a local favorite like sicily’s. the sicily’s version lacked size and presentation, and could have used more batter. the pizza was very good though. it’s a great combination of cheese and sauce, and i love their crust. it’s also a heck of a value. for a straight cheese pizza, it’s one of the best in town. watch for coupons in their emails and the mckinney publications!

nom: we were one of two groups of customers in the restaurant sunday night. i’ve always like this place the service has always been good as well as the food and the price! ok, so our waitress was less than attentive. we sat down to no silverware and so when our appetizer came we had nothing to eat it with, then when the pizza came we had nothing to eat it on! we started with the fried ravioli and the order only fed 6 people…wait we were a party of 5…oh yeah…we didn’t have any silver ware so jon dropped his trying to cool it off and so i gave him mine. so no ravioli for me but it looked good and everyone seemed to like them! then comes the pizza…very very good pizza! this is a place where i could make a meal of the crust. the kids demolished the cheese pizza, it’s really that good. jon had a bowl of spaghetti with butter sauce as well and he inhaled that so i think it had to be good. ok for 5 of us we got out of there for a little over $50. but we fed 5 people, still watch for coupons because that was the cost with a coupon!

a little disorganized with middle of the road food. sicily's is a stand-alone building with white & green colors. it has a unique light house look. the decor is nice. the slate flooring and parchment colored walls look nice. the mural on the back wall is nice. the row of windows would be nice if it did not look out on the run down parking lot and cars. the tables are a bit of a turn off. they have local advertising sealed into the table tops. the garlic bread was the best feature of the night. the soft crust on the outside mixed nicely with the cheese and garlic. there is a lot of garlic, so beware of the garlic breathe afterwards. the caesar salad was average, so was the pizza. my plate had significant grease run off. later that night both my wife and i were drinking large amounts of water, which means the pizza was very high in salt. i would not come back. it was an average visit.

yuck. i knew i should have walked out when our waitress spent 8 min on her cell as we waited to order! i ordered the baked ravioli with alfredo sauce i took one bite spot it out and was absolutely discussed! the alfredo was so oily and tasteless, it actually left a thin film of oil in my mouth! course it took 10 min before our waitress came and checked on us! i won't be back

best italian food around!. i have lived in the area all of my life and have always overlooked sicily's. i recently took a new job and my coworkers raved about it, now we are ordering food on a weekly basis, we can't stay away! the food is authentic and so flavorful, the owners are sweet as can be and know most of their patrons by name. i don't have a single bad thing to say about sicily's. love love love it!!

excellent family owned italian.. delicious. we all loved our dinner. didn't love the service. i don't think it was a restaurant issue, but just our server was inattentive and just nit cut out to be a server. either way, food was inexpensive and good italian. byob. definitely worth a try!
