we decided on a thai lunch today so we drove over to siam samrarn at west end. at 1pm the lunchtime crowd are leaving so we opted for an outdoor table. the waitresses here are very experienced and are elegantly dressed in traditional thai costumes. the thai themed decor looks authentic and is very attractive to this tourist.
our entrees are served within 15 minutes. the thai fish cakes ($8.50) and coconut prawns ($9.50) look appetising. served hot, the fish cakes and prawns are tasty. as we finish our entrees, the waitress informs the chef to prepare our mains.
the seafood pad see eiu ($15) is served “as is” from the wok, without any garnish. presentation is a tad disappointing and it tastes ok, not great! the papaya & bbq chicken salad looks nice. the dressing is a bit too sweet but this dish is very good.
overall, the food rates 3.5-4.0, however, service from the experienced waitstaff gains the restaurant an extra half point. well done guys!
