i've never been disappointed. going in with high expectations to try this due to the restaurant labelled in the best of brisbane category. food is bland. decor is nice. ordered 7 dishes. probably the best one was the crab fried rice. basil chicken too bland, not enough basil, chicken cut too big. moreton bay bug garlic very salty. tom yum, bland. pad thai, so so. rest not memorable

i don’t eat thai food a lot because there are so many thai restaurants and its often hit and miss. however at siam samrarn in the west end, the food was simply fantastic. you have to walk a bit through a car park to the restaurant but its not hard to find with all the lights. its a bit daunting when looking at it from a far as it looks big and fancy but once you get closer you find that the place feels really quite authentic and the prices are mid-range. being a sat. night it was pretty busy, and we didn’t have a booking so we were a bit worried but it was unfounded as we were seated right away. firstly the entree of satay was just ok. i’m more used to a malaysian style satay where there are smaller pieces grilled but it was still tender and the satay sauce was good. the fish was well cooked and the green mango salad worked well in the dish.  both dishes were decent but it is the duck curry that was the winner of the night. it was so delicious that  i could just drink the curry as if

i wish they could deliver lunch. my workplace often order from siam samrarn, we are in west end as well and we call up to make an order for pick up for 10 people or so people. always ready in 20 minutes. fresh and always tastes good. $10 lunch, with $1 large spring roll and a can of drink - best value in brisbane.

favourite thai restaurant. i've been going to this restaurant for a long time and i still love it! three of my thai friends recommended and that's how i first went there. my favourite is the whole fish and tom yum soup. i never had problems with service too, even when they are busy, they take my order straight away and the price is reasonable. great for family dinner:)

dined here for dinner on a wednesday night. we ordered the satay chicken skewers for entree. the tom yum soup with seafood, the red curry with chicken and deep fried ice-cream for dessert. the tom yum soup had a lovely flavours which were well balanced between sweet and sour. the seafood flavour was also through the soup which was nice and contained mushrooms and other vegetables. the curry on the other hand was average. flavour was a bit bland but meat and vegetables were generous. the deep fried ice cream was also lovely.

siam samrarn is my favourite thai restaurant, also in west end. i'd gone past it a lot of times and never really thought it would be anything special because of it's location next to coles. boy was i wrong! the prices are good, the food is excellent and it's actually a really nice place to sit down and eat too - although i must admit i usually opt for take-away. i'm a big fan of their

we decided on a thai lunch today so we drove over to siam samrarn at west end. at 1pm the lunchtime crowd are leaving so we opted for an outdoor table. the waitresses here are very experienced and are elegantly dressed in traditional thai costumes. the thai themed decor looks authentic and is very attractive to this tourist.

our entrees are served within 15 minutes. the thai fish cakes ($8.50) and coconut prawns ($9.50) look appetising. served hot, the fish cakes and prawns are tasty. as we finish our entrees, the waitress informs the chef to prepare our mains.

the seafood pad see eiu ($15) is served “as is” from the wok, without any garnish. presentation is a tad disappointing and it tastes ok, not great! the papaya & bbq chicken salad looks nice. the dressing is a bit too sweet but this dish is very good.

overall, the food rates 3.5-4.0, however, service from the experienced waitstaff gains the restaurant an extra half point. well done guys!
