incredibly good. incredible bargain. a peruvian friend has been trying to get me here for a couple of years. foolish me for waiting so long. tons of authentic flavors in everything i tasted. clean, deep, well integrated flavors. started with the ceviche. the fish was impeccably fresh and was "cooked" in a lime juice, ahi amarillo, and cilantro sauce. served with freshly sliced onions and corn it was outstanding and so refreshing. it also came with a roasted sweet potato (yam?) i am no fan of these but this was perfectly cooked (read not waxy) and, surprisingly, went well with the fish. this is only served on saturdays and worth the trip my itself. the chicharrones sandwich was also outstanding. deep-fried pork and pork skins with aji mayo, cilantro, onion. it was served on a perfectly toasted ciabatta roll. scrumpitous and filling. could eat this over and over. tasted my friend's aji de gallina and loved its deep flavor and freshness. the plate had rice, beans and hard-boiled eggs. the empanada was interesting. i am a big fan of the empanadas at el arepazo, nearby. this was completely different, with a slightly sweet/savory dough but the filling was great. nicely spiced. tried the black bean soup and it had layered flavors of the beans, onions, beef, cilantro. some heat. a real winner, even on a hot day. finished with tres leches cake, something i usually avoid like the plague. this one was fresh, moist and very flavorful. a big hit. all in all, this is a great place, serving large plates of often outstanding food and great prices. a must try
